Oil Oil Oil, which to chose?

I've been running Valvoline SynPower and Purolator filters since the mid 90's. I've put well over 750K miles between multiple cars the highest reaching 225K on its own. Theses were all Chevy products. Never a single problem or a single puff of smoke. They all ran like scalded ass apes too.

Currently I run SynPower 5w30 with a Purolator Pure One filter. My next oil change will have the new Synthetic Oil Filter by Purolator.

Mobil 1 Synthetic will do you fine since your stock. Use at least the NAPA Gold Filter or even better the Platinum filter.

If your motor was modded I would suggest Valvoline VR1 Racing oil. Expensive and will also take out your Cats with time but a great oil!

Where's the best place to buy the NAPA filters? Are they that much better than the Mobil 1?

NAPA filters are sold at NAPA Auto parts. They are made by Wix. I forget who makes the Mobil 1 filters. IIRC the Bosch are just Purolators.

I always use Mobil 1 in my cars. In your region I'd check your local auto parts store for what's available unless you have the dealership do the service for you.

Hi Kiteboarder85, Chevrolet recommend using an engine oil that is Dexos1* approved. We recommend using our Pennzoil Platinum 5W-30. It meets the Dexos1 specifications set by Chevrolet and would give you great performance in keeping your engine clean, wear protection and resistance to mechanical breakdown.
