Perhaps I am blowing it out of proportion. I will just send an e-mail to Hoosier and ask. If this tire works for our cars (R7 315), and if it lasts twice as long as R6s (which I hope), it might be an incredible deal for us and I'd love to try a set. It is about $450 cheaper than Trofeo Rs for a set as well.

For newbies, it's good to start with a street tire like the Goodyear Supercar G2s or the Michelin Pilot Super Sports, then progress to a street-type R-compound like Nitto NT-01s (love these!) or Toyo R888s. Finally Hoosiers or slicks.
Slicks and Hoosiers (which are basically slicks) have a less gradual breakaway I've been told, and that's why it's best to wait until a driver has experience. However I find Hoosiers just fantastic at the limits, both the A6 and R6 variants. Very controllable and predictable. |

I am sooo tempted to get R7s. I will send them an e-mail now and ask about load ratings.

My Camaro's in the shop so I am tracking my other car this weekend, they don't make A7s and R7s in the sizes I need yet. I'm gonna run A6s instead. They don't last long, but their grip level is just so over the top good

I sent an e-mail to Hoosier as well. Here are the questions I asked: Quote:

Well, I also sent an e-mail to TireRack, and asked them to add these new sizes to their list. I need their heat cycling service : P

Useful thread thanks. I run R6's on another car (36 hot) and am interested in Hoosier's response to questions regarding R7 load rating on the Camaro. If ok for higher speed/temp tracks, and the tire sizing is correct, I'll definitely run them on the Z/28.

Holy cow that's a lot of pressure! I'm assuming the A6's that I'm running this weekend would benefit from similar pressures although the Viper is 3350 Lb without driver so I'll go lower. I'll see if I can get in touch with Jeff. Thanks for looking into this.
