I came from a 2010 SS to the 1LE with Recaros. I tracked both at Sebring and some autocross events. The stock seats suck and I fly all around the car. At Daytona I was pinning my helmet against teh hood to keep me in the driver seat during a 90+mph turn, the Recaros help me stay focused on the road and not my ass.
Also, everyone including my wife that drive both love the Recaros 10x over the old seats. OP- if you don't track you do not need them and you will not have any trouble at selling them or trading them on this forum. I say go for it and buy the 1LE with the Recaros and at least try them for a a bit, then trade them away if you don't like them. I understand the shoulder space is tight with them but as others have posted you will get good value for them. good luck.

I tried a trick that came from the motorcycle field. When you're unsure of the comfort, seat time will help you decide. I test drove the 1LE and then continued sitting in them for another 15 minutes without getting out of the car. I sat there talking and messing with the radio. I then got out, not liking the seats were stiff and sat in another 1LE with the standard seats. It was heaven for me. Keep in mind I'm a big guy, think linebacker.
It was the same deal when I looked at the Boss 302's last year but no dealer would come off MSRP on them. That's why I don't own the Boss. |

Hope I didn't get anyone worked up. I'm covering all bases before I commit to the contract.

If I were in your situation I would just order a car exactly the way you want it configured. If not you could lose some money later on down the road when selling.

Amen Brother.....6'3" 300 lbs, and my shoulders wont fit either.....not even close! I hope to find a normal size guys performance seat some day, but until then, very glad I have the standard Camaro seats. I get there limitations, but it beats not being able to put your back against the back of the seat.

Well guys. I sat down and really went through my finances with buying a 1LE. I have a year left on my silverado and about the same on the wifes Dodge Avenger.
So, I'm going to wait a year before I do anything and if I trade any of the cars in it will be the Dodge. The wife offered to daily the Silverado so I could get the 1LE. The kid in me wants it RIGHT NOW! But I know what I have to do, to do it right. Responsibilities suck! lol Last edited by RockerBox; 12-26-2014 at 04:19 PM. |
