In sunroof cars, this support is replaced by 2 supports that run on either side of the sunroof.

If not having a sunroof is a dealbreaker, then cancel your order since the dealer screwed up. Order from someone local or find what you wanted on a lot.

Unfortunately, you do share some of the responsibility for what happened here. You should have verified a print out that had your order options on it or you should have noticed that the final price they quoted was not high enough to include the sunroof option.

That's what I was verifying the car is still in oshawa hasn't shipped to dearborn yet, we were discussing the final price and gms discount when I noticed he didn't mention the sunroof, he's looking into at the moment.

2nd week in november for a new order, I PASSED.... I can't wait any long I have no car and I'm sick of driving my wife's 09 maxima around. I'd like to thank you all for making my decision, I'll be sure to ask more questions once I go for a turbo or supercharger lol

I'm betting that you could call 50 dealers within 500 miles of you and you would find a car on the lot or almost arrived exactly like you want...

I emphasized on that issue that I wanted a sunroof 2ss manual RS, Ground effects, black on inferno orange and I had a feeling something was going to go wrong, it's seriously frustrating at the end of the day... So if the dealer installs it, it's still bad?
Is it Bad.. YES!!!!!

I think he meant you needed to verify this waaaay before it went to 3300.I verified mine twice while still at 1100,and when my salesman called to tell me it went 3300,I had him verify it with me again.Since my salesman gave me assurance that it was MSRP,when the told me he total I knew my order was correct.

I know what it feels like to wait for a long time to get the car,I ordered in Oct and got it July 31st.If you really want a sunroof you should not take this order, and try to get another one somewhere else.Having them put an after market sunroof will just end up being a headache, and a potential nightmare down the road.

Here is my 2 cents... Me and the gf got a sunroof with the last new car we bought a few years ago. We both really wanted it. After all this time, we can both honestly say it is no big deal. We actually hardly ever use it. It is always closed on the highway. Only really use it for short city trips. Half the time, I kinda forget it is there. I wouldn't get one again, don't really need it. Since the car is coming in like this, and they made a mistake, use this to your advantage and get free window tint or something for the inconvenience.

Couple pictures of a 1LT RS with an aftermarket sunroof.

If the installation is done by a professional they should guarantee their work for life of the car and you should never have any issues.

Things to look for before buying
Auto shut, If you want the sunroof to shut every time you turn the car off make sure the kit has this feature.

After the install
Check operation
Test for both water and air leaks, Be sure to turn the radio off and listen for whistling
Ensure the headliner is properly reinstalled, inspect around the opening as well as all the edges

To me the problem with an aftermarket sunroof is 2 fold, 1st and most importantly it completely nullifies the structural integrity of the roof bracing. 2nd (which I guess could be done with the right product) is dealing with the contours of the reverse Mohawk and getting a proper seal and fit/finish. The 1st is an absolute deal breaker as the sheetmetal would be the support for all the added weight. I wouldn't want to be in that car if it were to ever "roll".

Although hard to tell this appears to be a well performed install from the pics, I wouldn't find it acceptable if the roof wasn't somehow reinforced first.

To look for another one or have them trade is gonna cost me more time and money... delimas delimas
EDIT: So I finished reading the entire thread and see you plan to take home the car they built for you... good decision...

New parents can't "order" a real baby that's perfect; so if this truly is going to be your baby... keep that in mind and give the car a break. I say be happy with the car's minor imperfection. 99% of people that admire your car will never think, much less say.. "Hey, where the hell is Sunroof??" and you're going to be a proud new "Dad" the moment you see the car... I know that's the feeling I had... it's not the "RS" I ordered, but it's mine... You're gonna fall in love with it coming home...

Thanks
Dont do it....it will NEVER be like factory. If you can live without the sunroof see if they will compensate you or wait and get exactly what you want.
