Actually 4 cats and two sensors. Deleting mufflers will not affect inspections or emmisions in Va. Could only get a ticket for noise. Thats it.

I tuned out my decel popping this morning. Worked great - NO MORE POPPING/BURBLING/GARGLING! The problem is with the DFCO feature (Deceleration Fuel Cutoff). You can disable it by modifying parameters (like engine coolant enable temperature, enable RPM) such that it will never see those conditions (480 degrees F, 8000 RPM).

Disabling DFCO isn't the BEST way to do it, (the best way involves a LOT more trial & error work) but it definitely shuts it up.

I might just sell my LMII now and put my muffler delete straight pipes back on now.

Pre-cats and main cats like the S-series vehicles, or 4 full sized cats?

If it's like the s-series, then the pre-cats can be removed without any problems... They're only there to warm up the car a little faster for emissions testing.

I did the muffler delete on my L99 a few weeks ago, really like it
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43409

Technically (with the L99, with the 4 cats, 1 resonator, and 2 mufflers), if you remove the mufflers, the resonator still remains. The resonator is basically a sound muffling device, which is what most laws require. So technically you still have a sound muffler, and can stay legal.

And I personally like the popping at startup, when decelerating, and revving. It sounds like a muscle car, which if I remember right, the Camaro is.

hmm odd here in cali we have some of the most strict emission codes around. but a muffler delete will not fail you in inspection. only if you remove any emission related parts...ie primary and secondary cats. the mufflers and resonators are for sound not emissions so a muffler delete should be fine. Unless some states have a code about vehicle noise. I know here in cali cars are not allowed to go above a certain decible level (which is harldy ever enforced) mainly used to target imports. Ive had the mufflers removed on my ss and its awesome, really makes the car sound more like a muscle car. Even the dealership said its no big deal.

Just drove the car. It sounds great. And only $170 bucks. Can't beat it.
Seems expensive, I had mine done for $60.00. Just my experience.

Just did the Muffler Delete at Mesa Muffler in Mesa Arizona Cost $140 and took about an hour.

OMG! Now THIS is what the car should sound like! If you think you get allot of looks now, just wait till people notice you from the sound! I have people on the freeway now giving me a thumbs up becasue it sounds so good.

The engine rev's allot smoother and when shifting gears the rpms hardly drop at all now.

And the Decel popping sounds cool IMO...

The stock mufflers are pretty heavy my calibrated hands say they weigh between 20-25lbs each and taking the mufflers out probably added some HP.

Save your money and delete the mufflers...DO IT~!

I have the Magna Flow Street series, I am considering removing the front muffler and putting in a X pipe or just removing the back and doing a straight pipe.... Hummmm

Has anyone done a dyno, before and after a muffler delete? I curious if there are any gains...

Here is a muffler Delete dyno run.

It probably adds a few HP, but it's mostly for allot of 6.2L V/8 sound...
