I had short travel Johnson link bars with the axle oiling. They make a few versions of the short travel. I believe mine were around .058 or so I ordered them through Tony Mamo. It was the quietest LS valvetrain I've ever heard.

We use morel link bars with blocks that don't except lifter trays but even those I'd rather run ls7 if I could. Seen more aftermarket failures than ls7.
So true. I ran LS7 lifters on my previous setup and spun it to 7200-7400 rpm without any issues. I recently swapped heads and went with the stock lifters because I only spin it to 6400 rpm. I did notice 2 of the lifter trays (20K miles) were slightly out of shape where they couldn't hold a lifter, so I also replaced the lifter trays.

I've had morel tie bars 5206 had 1 fail on me and refuse to pump oil up
Then I got a 2nd set they ran fine, however recently pulley them out doing a cam swap can feel the wheel grinding on them so they are also going in the bin.

LS7 for me now too after many people told me to run them and like this thread did a bunch or research called a few reputable shops.

Couple of guys doing 140+mph running LS7 lifters.
