Harness is probably shorted there is a TSB out for it. I have attached the verbiage from the bulletin.

That’s unfortunate...... hope it’s not defective. Perhaps a shop can diagnose the main problem.

I was having issues with the car not starting intermittently and error codes for the cam and crank position sensors. Turned out be some shorted wires in that exact location. There are a lot of wires there. Any one of them could cause a bunch of issues if they're cut or shorted.

If a shop was free I'd take it there, but at $140 for just a diagnostic I'd like to troubleshoot myself. :P Unfortunately, I won't really have until tomorrow or Friday to try to remove the fuel rail/injectors and test stuff.

That’s true. Lucky for me, I have a hook up for free diagnostic testing. Good luck, hope u find a fix.

Well, I have a pretty good scan reader, just haven't really used it too much before.

Those scanner are good, I like mine, but my mechanic will usually diagnose it for free. We’re good friends. It ain’t cheap to diagnose I agree.

Swap the cylinder 5 injector with another one. Clear the codes with your scanner and then see if the code stays at 5 or moves with the injector. If it stays, you have a wiring/electrical problem, if it moves you have an injector problem.

Before swapping parts back and forth, I'd check that wiring harness bundle for damage on the passenger side of the engine. Fuel injector wiring runs through that area. Poor decision on GM's part concerning the routing of that harness and the way its secured. They used harness clamps that act like razor blades with the constant vibration of the engine. Then one harness is a fraction of an inch above the most intense heat source on the car. Once the razor clamp cuts into the protective wire loom, the harness slides down onto the exhaust manifold.

The wiring for two sensors were cut into on my car. The error codes and symptoms pointed to bad sensors which I almost purchased.

I looked at it yesterday and didn't see any glaring damage, but I'll look again today.

Well, I got a new clip injector retaining clip (the old one was loose) in today and threw it on, started the car and let it idle for a bit and even revved it up and everything was running great. I let it idle a little longer and then revved it and I heard some odd noises and then I started to smell fuel and it started to lug again. I was hesitantly happy that that little clip was the fault, but alas, no.

I haven't pulled the fuel rail off yet, but that's my next step.

Just swapped the #5 injector to the other side, cleared the codes, started the car up and the P0205 came back on.

Mine wasn't either, just looked loose. Once I freed the harness and removed the harness clamps, thats when I found the shorted wires.
