Something I learned from History channel is that NIST does everything in Metric, the US measurements are just done for convenience.

My guess is that the car does everything in Metric, and the gauges show for whatever. In the case of the auxillary gauge, isn't it the same? Meaning the needle will be in the same position for the gauge no matter what. I believe all the computer sends to the aux gauges is the position where the needle should be. Look at page 4-12 in the owners manual.

Like speedometers that are in KPH, at 100, it is the same as 62MPH

If it's not sold in Canada then where did my car get one Any OEM part on any North American manufactured automobile must be available through the dealer network. For example - think warranty claims. It's available here - just the price is wacked (as usual). Saskman has a P/N too.

If what is said above is true (the mechanical/electical is the same, so the needles are in the same position, but the face of the gauges simply have different print) then I say just order from the states. Do you really need to see them in metric units? Or better question, do you really look at these gauges Srsly.... I love mine, and I do glance at them on start up etc., but other than the cool visual effect of being down there, they're basically useless. It's about the opposite of HUD. Not easy/safe to read while driving - eyes too far from the road. Cool idea carried over from the 60s.

I honestly dont care if they are in C or F...my only concern was some wacky computer issue for god knows what reason that would cause the gauges to not work in a Canadian Vehicle if the gauges are USA. I am assuming they will, just wondering if anyone has done this. Surely SOMEONE in all fo Canada must have put them into there 1SS and can pass along a part # they used in Canada, or where they ordered in the USA and if they worked. I love the look of them, more than actual functionality need, but I do want them to work right

OK talked to GM about this and the USA guages will NOT work in Canadian/European Cras with code U19 (Metric) The computer sends a whole different code to the guages and GM has two seperate part #'s for these.

The "kit" apparently is coming perhaps in summer or later according to them, but they didnt know, just that it was in the works down the road. For now you can buy a kit BUT you also have to get the traction control switch, the accessory plug w harness and socket.

It's GM part #92239976 list at $830.00 but I got it for trade rate of $664.00. Ya it's still a lot but it's the one major option from the 2SS package I really wanted I didnt get with the 1SS M6 I bought. Also bought the Skip Shift on e-bay for $12, so for now Im set and hope this can help others looking for this option for there 1SS/LT/LS Manual Trans

I am now confused. I was told the US Gauges would work in my canadian
1LT 6spd. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40353. Maybe Camaro Scotty or Dave Hillier can assure us canadian owners as I was getting ready to order one from them.

Someone close to the boarder needs to find an American friend or dealer who is willing to try a plug-n-play to see if they'll work.

I EM Camaro Scotty, they cant ship to Canada anymore. I am highly curious for someone to try it despite what GM said. Trouble is you cant return electronics so it would be an expensive way to find out! Would be nice though.

If anyone wanted to make the trip over to me, we could try my 2LT stock gauges on a 1LT, 1LS manual.

I'm a little ways away from the border though.
90 minutes or so.

Interesting though. The collision catalog lists only one part. Parts 15 and 16. However with the difference in the wiring maybe it doesn't work with the "1" models?
