4 guage pack

Anyone order the 4 guage pack here in Canada? My dealer quoted me $810 and gave me part #92239976 for 1SS M6.

Must have it before the car hits the road! Any help is appreciated

I seem to remember reading much earlier in the production year that they appeared to be plug & play (meaning pop out the clutter tray and the wires were already there) but that they in fact were not (i.e. they didn't work when plugged in). I think perhaps the BCM needs some reprograming . I didn't pay attention b/c I knew I was getting the full package Check the DIY section - someone may have posted a how-to.

I found a few threads on these and virtually all said no programming was reuqired and was a simple 20 - 30 min installation. The only thing was they were all American and I was wondering if anyone from Canada bought them and put them in.

As for EBay...all USA guages that I was able to see???

Will GM parts direct ship to Canada?

That part number comes up $256.15
I also found an AC delco Canada site, in the DIY section. I was looking for the metric speedometer for someone in germany. I think I might have found that, but you can poke around on there, getting part numbers.

http://webcaps.ecomm.gm.com/canada/InternetMain.jsp was the site I found. Maybe you can find the 4 pack gauges on there.

From what I read, the US ones have all been plug and play.

OK then - I guess you're right. Perhaps I'm remembering the speculative discussions before launch. Metric vs. imperial.... not sure about that one. If the wires are live I'm sure they'd plug right in. You'd know pretty quickly if the unit of measure causes a problem b/c the oil pressure needle will slam to the far right (psi vs. kps) and the oil temp won't hardly move (F vs C)

Are there NO Canadian Dealers on this site that can shed some light or help on this one?

You're better off to ask one of the guys that work at the plant. The people on here from the dealers don't know a lot when it comes to this (no offense guys). They're sales people not service/parts. And even then the guys in service/parts usually don't know unless they themselves have done what your asking before. There are very few that research things in this much detail (for example Camaro Scotty's parts guy is probably the only one).

Order one from the states, then check out the DIY thread and you can do it all yourself. $800 for the 4-pack is an absolute rip off. Its one thing to get raped, its another to be spit and urinated on after the intial rape.

Yes, just order one from the States. Metric vs Standard doesn't matter, the only difference is the lettering on the face of the gauge, electronically and mechanically they are the same. I can see this part being $500-600 in Canada with exchange and sucky supplier pricing. Any dealer will charge at least and hour to install at around $100. Add everything up, slap 15% tax on it and your are close to $800. Cool eh? At least we won gold!!!

HeavyD - let me know how that goes with the install...I was nervous about the Temp guage in the US reading F and the oil vs C for Canada cars. I am thinking there is something in the cars computer that will send C readings to guages in F....
