I installed a Spectre CAI with out disconnecting the battery, took it out for test drive and at WOT the car would shut down. Reinstalled the stock air box and at WOT it did not shut down. Second time around I disconnected the battery and then installed the CAI, took out for Test Drive and at WOT car did not shut down. Not sure why it made a difference but it did. I thought fluke so with out disconnecting the battery I reinstalled the stock air box and at WOT car shut down, reinstalled the Spectre and at WOT it did not shut down, so obviously it does make a difference. Or it was one hell of a fluke.

That is a GREAT question because I have noticed as well that this computer is pretty smart.....

Installed 2, one on each a V6 and V8, never disconnected the battery on either, and no problems.
