I know it's a bit weird to add this in now... But what is your take on Orbital Polishers? Here again, im hearing two myths: 1) It removes swirls 2) It makes more swirls

LOL.. man cars...............

Dual action (random orbital) polishers are the best things since sliced bread!

They aren't for everyone, they can be very time consuming as far as the process needed to correct the paint. Me personally, there is no other way to go! The Porter Cable 7424XP (PC) is a professional polisher that all but guarantees you cannot hurt your paint! I have moved on to other types of machine polishing, but at the end of the day - I still buff my cars with my PC, I only get the big boys out for heavily damaged vehicles that come my way.

It is true, some polishers (mostly rotary, and forced rotation dual action) can induce more swirls in the hands of a amateur or hack detailer. Start small; this is not the situation to "go big or go home" because if you go big your likely to be going to the paint booth!

Watch Junkman's Video Series. AJ is a well known amongst the detailing world, he has created videos for just about everything you could ever want to know about detailing your car from wash to clay to polish to wax. There is a wealth of knowledge on adamsforums.com as well.
