The GFX were installed at my 5,000km service... (Which was actually done around 4,800km) They arrived much later than my car... All work on my car has been done through this same dealership..

This problem did not exist prior to that time... the car is now just over 7,000km.. So yes this has only been an issue since after GFX installation...

My problem with the GFX is not looks.. I personally love the looks, which is why i bought them and had them painted.. I do not want them off the car, it was the dealership who suggested it might be the only solution...

I brought it in to the shop for the sound because #1... it is very frustrating..
and #2.. because I was worried that the source might have been something mechanical in nature.

The GFX never struck me as a possibility because I'd never heard of this problem on the forums yet.

The shop tech who was on the phone with me... seemed akward.. he agree'd that he'd be reacting the same as me, and expecting something to be done about it. but that he was just telling me what "they" told him.

That was the thread about the money short-collected issue thru the same dealer.

I didn't post much towards the end as I was pretty upset/exhausted with dealing with it and just kind of needed a time out.

To make things worse.. I have damage to the door / rear side panel on my car from road debree... what looked like a wheel cap or some other piece of metal/plastic... with a reflective surface.... shot out from under another car ahead of me on the highway... got caught in my wheel well.... made a whole bunch of gut wrenching noise in there... scared the crap outta me.. & then spit out up the side of my car.. and messed it up pretty bad.

Body shop said... easily looking at 1-2 grand in repairs.. at the very least. just upon first glance.

Insurance... is trying to say its not covered under "comprehensive" and instead they want to claim it as a collision claim.. with me at fault... which basically would mean my insurance discount would drop from 30% to 5%.. and it would cost me.. they said.. something like an additional....1500 this year, over 2 grand next year and even more the next year..

I argued with that.. since.. i didnt hit a stationary object.. something flew into me and hit ME.... plus it came from under another car.. so was impossible to avoid.. unless I was to risk swerving into other lanes and hitting other cars.. And thanks to someone else providing me with a link to my insurance companies policies in regards to "comprehensive coverage" my incident definately meets that description..

so I'm due to bring the car in to be inspected by their claims shop.... where they will decide how they will deal with it.

Man... when it rains it pours..

And to top it off.... 8 months after ordering my revolution hood.. I still dont have my parts... just lots of lies in regards to shipping my stuff.. I have the hood with no latch and no ducting.. and a laundry list full of messages/mails from them with dates that they shipped or "are going to ship" my stuff.

Me and my Camaro are having a bad day! lol.

Things have got to start going uphill now for sure.

Dang man, What insurance company are you with? That should be a comprehensive claim since it was something that was not attached to any car,
Sometimes things happen like this, one thing after another... It sucks but you gotta learn to roll with the punches or you will get knocked out...
I hope you get your problems sorted out on your GFX...They do look good on your car...

BTW how much would a Muffler shop charge to replace your tips with some that actually fit the opening?

I had a low rattle at takeoff with my GFX, they adjusted the tips and its fine.

HOWEVER. I do have a problem with the gfx clearences, there is gaps like at the front tip about a half cm. Same just behind the rear tires.... I took it back for a fix and it came back looking the same with the excuse they cant do anything about the gaps. It looks really corny to see the nice lines then have this ugly gap where you can even see the double sided tape.......

Should I take it back and hassle some more?

I got some GFX matching exhaust tips from MBRP, I think they were about 50 bucks each, then 50 bucks at as local shop to weld them on. (The MBRP piping is 3 inch, my Borla piping is 2.5, so they had to do some chopping and welding.

I had the same problem, they ended up using some windshield adheisive and it worked like a charm. I imagine it would be ugly as hell underneath if you ever took them off, but I don't plan on it, so I'm not worried.

Like I said, the GFX are never coming off, so I don't really care HOW they get it to stay on without gaps, as long as it works
