Not even close. That thing won't keep up with you at all. 14s on the strip, but after 100mph bye bye. bus lengths.

Vs a G35 the SS has this one without a problem.

But @ green man,

The 2006 350z was also a joke compared to the other model year 350z's; it is known as probably the slowest model year for the Z. Despite the bump in HP, this model year shows up only a few times on the top 25 times (towards the very end) for stock or NA, and even the 03-04's consistently ran faster than the 06, with less HP. I don't blame you for 'feeling the difference,' it's completely accurate and even I don't understand why this year seemed to be so slow for the 350z

The 07-08 350z's run mid to high 13's with some hitting 13.1's stock, but this newer engine (the VQ35HR) never made it's way into the G35 coupe, only the 2007+ G35 sedan.

They gave up torque for HP in 2006 with the shitty rev-up version I had, 300hp/260tq. In 2007 they got their sh!t together with the HR which was light years ahead of the rev-up in performace, 306hp/268tq.

So, 2003-2005 had the original 287hp/274tq vq, except for the 2005 track and 2005 35th anniversary which got the rev-up.

Yes, i ended up with the lamest VQ motor of the bunch, still a great car that served me well for 4 years of completely headache free ownership.

For sure bet the farm if he is stock. I think even asleep at the line and a bad launch you could still take him. BTW most engine builders say to break your car in hard so drive it like you stole it for the first 1000 miles and change the oil at 500mi and then at 1500 mi after that you are good.

Personally, I think my SS takes the G35 coupe and has its way with it... but since I still only have around 250 miles on the car, I dont know it THAT well yet so I will defer to the authorities.

Do I bet a steak dinner on it?

I wont be racing anytime soon (local drag strip fires up here before too long though), with so few miles on the car I have only hit WOT a couple of times for very brief shots and want to break in the engine before going balls out for any real amount of time.
He'd need to be extremely light in order to make up for the lack of power, 200-250 lbs just isn't enough to compensate for being down by 25% on power. It would be fairly close if you had a V6 though.

Even with boost he'll have a hard time, unless he's running crazy boost.

not really. A vortech with 8lbs will make about 380rwhp. At that point it will be a driver's race.

Well..the only thing you can do is..

Grab that G35 by the haunches and hump it into submission..

I can't take credit for that joke but it makes me laugh every time I here it put into any current rape situation..

The SS will have no problem at all. My V6 ran pretty much even against a G35 (dont think his was stock though). His acceleration was faster but at 85 mph+ dead even out from there.
