I think one of the best bit's of protection you can invest in for your Camaro is Clear Bra. After reading about the paint chips folks have got, I knew it would be the first thing I did to my car before it ever left town. Without a doubt, it's the best money I've spent on my car so far.

Yeah all you are doing is prepaying for a paint job. And you will get the respray only after haglling with them on when they think its time to respray. Your better off getting a clear bra.

You are paying for a warranty, not 10 year protection. If something actually did work that long, it would be sold at Walmart.

Talking to a buddy of mine at a detail shop -he said he'd put up his caranuba wax against any dealer "protection".

Yes, I am a dealer, and no I don't sugar coat reality.
Exactly ... I think of it as an insurance policy for my finish. I have the " Perma Seal " on both my cars. Neither of them are garage kept, so if I get a stain from whatever that won't come out it will be repaired at no additional cost ...

Wait - are you telling me this dealer was deliberately trying to screw you for his own personal ($$$$) gain?

Thumbs down

Its called extra profit for the dealer, as for the rust module that can be shoved with the paint protection.....

PT Barnum would love this schtick. A sucker is born every minute. This stuff is from the days of polyglycote, rustyjones, etc.

Look at the paint on the car. Look at a coat of wax on the paint on your car. Do you think that this will protect it from chips, fading, cracking, etc, for 10 years? If so, line up, bend over, and pay the piper.

There is no free lunch as far as taking care of the finish on your car. Bite the bullet and get 3M Clear Bra installed and wash and wax the car regularly or live with the chips and fading. This is true for all vehicles.

What they do is take a comet and grind it up, mix it with pixy dust and behold you have a 10 year protection, sometimes they use that sweet thing off of star wars.

Do they give you a catapult and a moat with the extra protection package?

From someone with 10 years in the detailing business, I can tell you that the dealer "paint protection" is an absolute joke. Tell them "No thank you."
