I can get the same w/ my LS3.

I think the AFM really only helps in city situations? Maybe?

I shut mine off with a programmer.

Since my car isnt stock it would really bog down and I was afraid of the car running lean.

I have only installed the CAI Inc. on my l99 and I never hear it kick in or out. I want to get my money's worth and warranty out of my stock exhaust.

Heck, I remember when a 400 hp motor would only get about 10 MPG, if you were lucky!

I have a catback and x-pipe and it doesn't bother me at all either.

I have to agree....I have no problems with the stock exhaust or the AFM. I certainly want to get my moneys worth from my stock equipment and my warranty. Just drive around using the paddle shifters to get the most of your exhaust note.

Kooks 17/8 catted headers, Magna Flow Competion exhaust, Roto Fab CAI, Dyno'd and tuned plus tuned off the AFM...WOW!!!

3k on Car...Was getting average 21.3 mpg... now with above only on for 500 miles, get 20.3 mpg. However lower mileage is definitely due to my getting on it more with the work done so far.

For some reason upon reading the thread title the first thing that popped into my head was, "what does Marsellus Wallace look like?"

AFM delete is absolutely necessary for anyone running a full exhaust (LT and Catback) on a Camaro SS.
I am ordering the L99 and really want the ATAK or S type exhaust....drone doesn't concern me, but AFM does.

The sound at cruising isn't a huge issue for me as I do most of my driving around town and don't often get to cruise above 60mph.

Is the irritation something that can be controlled by going with an axle back / stock resonators?
