I installed a K&N Typhoon last evening. All went well and it looks and sounds great. I drove it around our neighborhood a little afterwards and, WOW, could I ever feel the difference in the butt dyno at times and it roared like a lion!
I've put CAI's on before and didn't disconnect the neg battery and didn't last evening either. Drove the 26 miles to work (secondary roads and highway) and, at least so far, no CEL.
I have heard on this forum of instances where the K&N Aircharger has thrown one but I don't know why that model may be any more prone to doing so than the Typhoon, which I haven't heard doing it to anyones car.

The Hunter, if you're unable to get your CEL to go away on it's own I would suggest at least contacting your dealer to see if they would be willing to take a look at the vehicle to make sure the installation was done correctly. I hope that helps you.
