I definitely wouldnt say that Nine Ball doesnt have a clue, he clearly has demonstrated that he DOES have a clue. but I dont know that for 90% of us, there is a genuine performance need/difference for our street driving needs.

just my .02
Thanks. There are also varying levels of quality in the cast wheels market alone. Some cast wheels are made pretty well, and have nice surface smoothness and finishes on them. Some are poorly (cheaply) made and look a bit rough under that cheap layer of chrome plating. I've seen these wheels in person, it is just my judgment call on them. What some consider good quality, others may consider poor quality.

Here is some light reading for you to enjoy, and educate yourself on the different build types.

then I guess I've been really lucky with my poorly (cheaply) made wheels because I've never had any issues. my Havoc wheels still look like brand new and they haven't fallen apart yet.

Sincerely,

poorly (cheaply) Ozzie

They are not low quality, they are pretty much standard quality wheels. They would only be low if you are trying to buy them for performance reasons. So if you are looking for performance you would look for a mono-block forged wheel. Havoc wheels are cast wheels like the standard RS 20" wheels.

Cast is when they pour an aluminum mixture into a mold.
Forged is when they take a solid block of aluminum metal and literally carve the wheel out of one block of metal. This is much stronger as there is less chance for impurities/weak spots.
