No need to downshift, I just put it in neutral when coming to a stop and use the brakes.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes everyone!! I'm glad you guys say that, because I was feeling like I'd never get it. My learning curve might be bigger; I still can't get it into reverse .

Yeah Becky D is great! Not only did she provide the right price but she also made EVERY aspect of purchasing a car easier. Even from over 1000 miles away!

I'm done learning for the day though, slightly nauseous from all that lurching..

Congrats on your new ride. We are always glad to have another "permagin" owner on this site. Becky is awesome. I'm glad you were able to work with a well respected member of out "Camaro-Nation" community.

You'll get the hang of the manual transmission. We all stall it once in a while.

As recommended above, don't downshift during the breaking in of your car's engine. I usually get lazy and just shift into neutral when approaching a stop (plus it saves a tiny bit on gas)..

Good luck and welcome. Lori

He's taking those existing rims off?! I actually like those. I'd prefer a little more silver color throughout, but they're definitely different than the norm.

Reverse isn't so hard... you just have give it a little extra pressure to the left on those V-6's. They don't want to shifting into reverse by accident when trying to go into 1st.

Congrats on the new ride! You'll be up to par on the clutch in no time. I've been driving manuals for the last 3 cars and stalled the camaro twice during my test drive. Don't worry about it though, it's a tight setup at first. =)

Yup, I purchased a set of the RS rims from him. I do like the heritage rims though so now I'm kind of in between. I'm thinking about keeping the heritage rims (wish they were slightly bigger though) or powdercoating the RS matte black. What do ya'll think?

Oh that makes alot of sense. So I just have to put more force into pushing the shifter left? Do I have to push down as well? I was told by a friend of mine not to shift too roughly as to not damage the shifter...
