Any paper about the Camaro being superior to the Mustang will be dated quickly. The 2011's are coming soon with more power!

Chrysler / Dodge:
Charger SRT8 It's a sedan. This was more direct competition with the G8.
Challenger SRT8It's overpriced, and underperforming. While close, I think most people just dismiss it.
Magnum A wagon??
300CSame reasons for the Charger...this car is focused more upmarket, too, isn't it?
Avenger R/T More like Cobalt-SS competition, imo.

Foreign:
Hyundai Tiburon GT FWD, 4-cylinder little compact coupe...shares very little in common with either the Camaro or Mustang.
Nissan 350 / 370 z 2 seater pretty much clinches it. But we've had discussions comparing it before. I think we settled on: "it's svery different vehicle"
Mitsubishi Eclipse GTSame reason as the Hyundai...
I'm surprised you left off the Genesis....

I suggest all these cars serve as Mustang competitors.
Technically, ALL cars are competitors. But there's a large gap between many of these cars...in real life, I'll bet a few people cross-shopped them...but I'll also bet it's rare...
answers in blue. By no means is my opinion the end-all...but that's what I've come to accept as the reasons based on reading/test-driving/auto shows...

Yup...they're coming...that don't mean their going to be anything special... Ford has proven over the years that power doesn't win sales, haven't they? I wonder what's changed their minds......

There's a reason Madden football runs at 60fps on XBOX 360 and 30 fps on PS3.

Also want to ask why the following cars don't count as competition for the Mustang prior to the Camaro coming back.

Chrysler / Dodge:
Charger SRT8
Crossfire
Sebring
Challenger SRT8
Magnum
300C
Avenger R/T

Foreign:
Hyundai Tiburon GT
Nissan 350 / 370 z
Mitsubishi Eclipse GT

I suggest all these cars serve as Mustang competitors, however the Mustang has always outsold them because Ford has done a good job appealing to customers. Why fix what isn't broken? The 4.6 liter 300hp engine is impressively fast and efficient. It's only a little behind the Camaro's huge V8 and yet its 100 h/p less.

I strongly prefer the Camaro to the mustang gt for 100 reasons but let me say this. I don't see Ford making any mistakes.
Honestly I cant argue the X vs P thing I dont know shit about that but I can see the difference and the PS3 game's look better then the X-BOX game's on the when played on the same tv.

Actually it's where you look at it. Gamespot had comparison to where the PS3 had better graphics than the 360 on far-away objects, and vice-versa. Search Graphics comparison test on gamespot.

lmao, im sorry, i totally turned a car thread into a gaming console battle, lmao, cant say i dont keep things interesting XD

Just ignore the last paragraph then, hahaha, i think the rest of it does go a long way to explain the two view points though...personally i love all three brands, i preffer GM just because i grew up in a GM family but honestly im up for any of the American brands...it really helps cause i can be one of the few who can keep an unbiased oppinion on muscle cars and just weigh the brands and products without instinctively thinking one's better...so far from an unbiased oppinion the Camaro is obviously on top but the 5.0 Coyote and the 392 Hemi are definatly going to be fierce competitors (assuming the rumors are true and the 392 really does make it into a production vehicle)

Not trying to re-ignite it, just stating a fact. I don't see Ford making any mistakes. They have destroyed the competition for how many years now? They forced GM to halt production of the F body all together. In the mean time they put the Dodge Magnum in its grave, and most Chargers sold are family V6 chargers, not fun and fast V8 chargers.

It even outsells the foreign competitors (think Tiburon, Genesis, 370z). Honda and Toyota, who have taken the market for small economy family sedans don't dare challenge the Mustang in its performance market.

And if you compare the same exact games on the two consoles, you'll find the PS3 versions are choppy, or have missing elements in the game. ie, Need for speed carbon, the PS3 version had to have buildings, traffic lights, and other scenery removed from the backgrounds because the PS3 couldn't handle all the objects on the screen at once.

But instead of reading my endless explanations, look at these screens.
http://www.gamespot.com/features/6162742/index.html

Put the mouse over it to see the PS3 version. X360 is the default. Notice the rear view mirror is missing everything.

Also i would agree that the Charger and 370Z arent viable competitors to the Mustang since one is a full sized sedan and the other is a 2-seat sports car, hardly a fair comparison for either...but i would disagree in that i think the Challenger, 350Z, and Eclipse are all perfectly viable competitors since they are on very similar platforms (two door sport coupes) and they're all fighting for a stake in the same consumer group

I think its a 6.4, im not sure though, they've only reffered to it as "392" so far but i would imagine its a 6.4 since if i remember correctly the 454 was a 7.0

That's the gamespot comparison review I was talking about! But, back to cars, they may have done right in sales, but performance wise they are lacking.

Is that going to replace the 6.1 in the SRT8 or is this the new motor for the SRT10? They need something to get that boat moving.

Only in comparison to the Camaro though? Wouldn't you agree? I have to admit right now the mustang GT looks very nice to me as a money saver, thats still pretty darn fast!

I'd imagine when the 2011 5.0 comes out next year it's gonna be much more money. Does anyone else think so?
