That to me is not a 'mature' way to start a discussion.

200+ posts over something - and all it did was inflame people.......

(and I swear if I die from a stroke over this, I'm gonna come back and HAUNT YOU!!!!)

(j/k)

(...........well.........mebbe not.......)

He wrote that because it is un-acceptable...

and to your point about this not being a "mature" way to start a conversation... well that kind of "fit & finish" isn't the way to start the production of the 5th Generation Camaro either.

ABL was not for naught. It's a real issue that was never fully resolved and is being shipped not completely right.

BECAUSE WE ARE FIXING THEM!!!! We work with suppliers of the parts to ensure they are fixed right BEFORE WE SHIP THEM.

SO.........when someone starts complaining that we are not shipping the cars right away -- THIS IS WHY!!!!!
That is what's extremely disappointing. The whole point of the CTF phase is to make sure everything is 100% before SORP and that didn't happen. Now we just have to wait and see if this turns into an ongoing problem or not. Will this turn out to be something like horrible smells in the '08 Vettes?

Actually I have to disagree with you on this one respectfully Scott. You may not have liked the way he posted his concern, or how he worded the first post in this thread. However this was an issue brought up before and it was not fixed on the line. If the plan was to build them all wrong like this and have them fix the problem later, then that is all you or anybody from GM would have to say about the issue. His reaction and the reaction of disbelief from others including myself were all warranted considering this is not a new issue.. Just be glad there are enthusiasts on this site at all that are still buying the Camaro and putting up with many crappy dealers who are out to lie and cheat their way into stealing more money out of the product you helped create and sell.. it is still beyond me why Gm seems to look the other way about those issues.. Especially those brought up in the thread below..

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15773
1. No, there is a difference between posting ones concerns and just adding fuel to the fire. Look at the wording he used, and on top of that some jumped on the sky is falling bandwagon IGNOREING THE EXPLAINATION THAT THE CAR DID NOT GO THROUGH FINAL INSPECTION AND WAS NOT SHIPPED, it was an event to please camaro enthuiast to see the first car off the line. Discutions are 2 way by nature, if one or more people IGNORES the explaination givin, it turns into pointless flame wars and nothing more.

2. and as to the second half of your post, you are wrong, If chevy was not open to the camaro developement like no other car has. This would have never been an issue WE ARE LUCKY that we have seen so much about the camrao developement from concept to production. It is threads like this, I think is why just like all other cars if there is a 6th gen camaro the developement of that car should not be as open.

I feel that ArcAngel made the right call, it brought it to the attention of many people and to GM themselves. Although they were probably aware of it they now know that other people are aware and interested in its resolution whether it be within factory QC or elsewhere. Now there is no reason or excuse for any of us to receive a car with those issues. This is a forum, and forums are for the discussion of questions, issues, the things that we are proud of and want to share and other information which we feel might be of interest to others, it also allows us to blow off steam when necessary. ArcAngel just voiced what others may have been thinking and guess what, the pictures depicted something that was unacceptable bottom line.

I was there and have been reading some of the thread and am hesitant to post here due to the tone of the thread.

Constructive criticism is important, and I am sure GM is aware of the issue and your cars will not be delivered to you looking anything like that photo. However, much of this thread is in no way constructive! Once you state your opinion and issue it is not constructive to keep posting the same thing over and over again w/out adding something new to the discussion. I personally would hold judgement until you see your car in person.

Personally I can say the CTF cars I have been in have been fine, but being pre-production they have not had the correct acrylic panels. Whatever the cause (supplier, etc) be assured that GM will correct the problem prior to shipping cars.

Hendrick may have been handed the keys and driven the car off the line, but it's not like he just headed south with it. Even he was forced to drive it back in and allow it to be shipped to a dealer for delivery (even if someone drove it back in for him and he owns the dealer it is being shipped to ) I would be surprised if the problem isn't corrected prior to shipping it, and in this case more importantly before it goes on display for so many people to see and critique!

So, calm down! I agree this is an issue that is unacceptable-if it is still there at delivery! I have faith it won't be

OK lets be honest, If you want to make yourself out to be a victim Ok, I don't like name calling on both sides, But you did not start a mature conversation or concerns (look at your wording). YOU jumped to conclusions IGNORED the explanations over and over again and started a flame war. When Fbodfather said what people have been saying the whole time that the car did not go through final inspections and was not shipped, you actually listened.
At the end of the day this is a thread the PUNISHES GM FOR PLEASEING IT'S ENTHUSIATS BY MAKEING AN EVENT TO SEE THE FIRST CAMARO OF THE LINE!!

EPIC FAIL!!!

I am done. (Face palm)

I do not know if the door was open or closed - but I can tell you that we look for things like this in final inspection and they are corrected.

CALM DOWN!!!!

...
I editted the original quote so this thread can be closed; it appears by 'Father's post that the issue the thread started because of is known about and is being addressed. That being said - there' no more need for anyone to be bashed here. I won't stand for people like 'Father, Number 3, 'Zeder, etc. to be bashed or have his motives questioned, let alone see more people attack other members. If more people feel like bashing, take it to another community, because, frankly, I'm tired of reading it. If another Mod' has a better idea or way to handle this, please do. The thread has been answered and there are enough bruises...

Which is why they have no intent on cars arriving at dealerships that way.

I think (don't know for sure) that you're half right on the purpose of the CTF cars. It is to find problems, and figure out how to fix those problems The question is what is the fix? If its an assembly issue that might be fixed fairly easily. If its a quality control issue from a supplier it takes a bit longer and means a higher reject rate on parts. If its a design flaw, wait till next model year.
