Anyways, if an SUV is what you are sure you want, then the Equinox is a fine choice.
ah but see my plan is to buy a used 5.0 a few years down the line after the equinox

Although I don't think I would opt for the brembo package myself I think it should be offered on the base 5.0.
agreed

My brother has a 01 GC Limited he bought as a fixer upper last year for 4600, it has had a few issues, all normal (auto climate control and needed the 02+ brake calipers), but for what he gave it's been a good vehicle, but I gotta say the CHerokees are easily one of the best Jeep has ever made, extremely reliable and extremely tough and offroad worthy, and heck, mopar still sells parts for them including a new 4.7 inline 6 stroker

We actually have similar thoughts. My origional plan was to trade the Jeep, but now I think I want to just pay it off then get a new or used 5.0 or SS.

Hey Jinx get into contact with me. We really need help getting the proper categories for the forum setup. We plan on most of the content being based on the 5.0 but we will have a big of the other generations in the forum just to keep things tidy and all.

Stew, great to know!

Still looking for forum mods guys

man they got more expensive...the camaro is the better value...i'm sure the 60 second and quarter mile times can be beat with a few mods ...but i'm certain next years camaro will be geared a little more aggressively

$30,890 for the 5.0 w/ 3.73 gear for 2011 is actually cheaper than the 2010 1SS.

The base GT with just the gear option is the performance bargain mustang.

As long as you don't mind not being able to stop very well.

Add the brembos.... and uh-oh.

...and don't get me started on the dinky wheels on that "stripper" model.

The front brembos are standard and I am sure that even without the rear brembos the brakes are pretty good.

The brembos are really mainly needed if you are going to track the car.

I am just saying that is the performance bargain. Much like the stripper LS1 cars for the 4th gens.
