Can it be seen from a couple feet away? Unless you can see it from a distance, 99% of the people will never notice something like that. and it really isn't worth the trouble trying to get it fixed by a dealership. I would be afraid it would look even worse afterwards because metallic paints are hard to get right in the first place.

In lower light you can cause it gets to be a dark line. Of course I would notice it more cause I know its there. I'm gonna take it to 2 car shows one in Bridgeville DE, then may go down to Ocean City, MD for the fall cruise later and see if anyone points it out to me. My stripe guy still has batch of my silver paint left. He has to redo the corner of my spoiler anyway, maybe I will just see what he says.

I'm actually not complaining. I didn't buy this car to be a show car or trailer queen. I drive it and sh!t happens. But to say these paint jobs are flawless is a stretch. They are OK factory paint jobs. You might even be lucky and have a good factory paint job. But to say they are flawless... go to a car show sometime and look a professionally done show car.

Now that I think about it---things could be worse look at what my kids have done to my wife's 06 Tahoe Z71. I got mad with the first couple--now I just shake my head and say "Honey your car can stay in the garage.

I can see it but then I am anal about mine as well. That being said I have a small rock chip on my drivers rear quarter panel, you know on her big hip. The local parts stores can’t match the paint, to new. Has anyone ordered a touch up kit they would recommend?

You can get touch up paint directly from your dealer's parts department. it's not cheap....

Check and see if any local paint shops have done stripes on any in your color because they need to repaint the hoods and trunks along with the stripes. Maybe they have some leftover like my guy does from mine. Worth a shot--- they may just give you some no cost.. the local ford body shop did it for me once they had the closet green color I could find for my '97 RS

Went to the dealer's auto body shop and showed him. It didn't take him any time at all to see. He agreed it was under the clear coat and tried some kind of compound on it just for the hell of it I guess. I am just going to chalk this one up to some added character. He said to fix it he would have to paint the entire side of the car. Ain't happening!!!
