wow. to the guys saying that the evo is a ricer car i would like to see u have the balls to attempt to race one at the track both the 1/4mile and auto x. im willing to put money down to assure that u will have ur asses handed to u.
some of u people are soo much of a fan boy of the camaro thats its annoying. take a look outside theirs more to life than the camaro.

to the mods who read this i think this fourm would be alot cleaner if u guys made a rule stateing " no VS threads" this way we will avoid all the camaro VS xxxxxx car threads. leave the comparision test to the car magizines and shows.

and for the record the camaro is not even out so we cant compare it to other cars alredy out. races are not won according to the spec sheet either.

I think everybody needs to ease up a little bit, please.

I don't see any real problem with 'vs' threads, being that there's not a whole lot else to talk about. It's pretty interesting actually to see what people will cross-shop or simply just compare against the new Camaro.

But certainly; there no need to call names, be it "ricer" or otherwise. And there's no reason to get super defensive about that comment either, imo.

please.

Welcome!

Have you test driven a Mustang or Evo yet? I'd suggest you do that if possible.

Do you need the use of four doors? How important is AWD v. RWD to you? Do you prefer the coupe or sedan styling?

AVOIDING the whole "rice issue" (), what I'm getting at is, it's what you are looking for.

If you're in no immedite hurry, I'd strongly suggest you test drive the Mustang, and Evo. That should help decide between those two at least and help narrow your decision.

Mustang GT...Underpowered, dated design, archaic suspensions system, basically if you buy the GT everyone will make you their bitch, at stoplights, through corners, carshows, etc.

EVO...Comes with a free 5 pound bag of rice, garbage can sized muffler and top fuel wing. Basically, although it is a quick car, you will come off as a high school fast and the furious wanna be!

5th Gen Camaro...Classic styling, big power whether it be the v8 or v6, good gas mileage, high quality interior, state of the art independent suspension, Instant Panty Dropper, basically you will get all the ooohs and aaaaahs while cruising, kick the guy's ass in the Mustang GT or Envos at the stoplight, and then take his Girlfriend home.

Seems like a nobrainer...but it could just be me???
Wel Said!

Considering '02 Evos werent available in the US that would be a little tough, 2003 was the first model year we could buy. 1/4 mile you're probably right but anything which requires quick starts, stops, changes in direction the Evo will eat most anything you throw at it stock for stock.
Strange comparison though, 2 American, RWD V8s vs Japanese AWD turbo 4-banger. Reminds me of that song "Which one is not like the others, which thing doesnt belong", something like that.

disagree. I will say again a 2002 camaro ss or firehawk will hang ok with a 2003. around a track stoping moving change in direction what ever. But I guess it really is not fair because the Firehawk and SS are not really "stock" but they do come form the factory that way so I guess you would call them "stock"

Is that with or without the warped F-bod rotors?
Anyway, to the OP, it really depends on what you're looking for in a car:
If its a corner carving, stoplight to stoplight monster, get the Evo.
If its a more sophisticated, civilized car with the some extra frills, plenty of power and very good hadling, get the Camaro.
If you dont want any of the above, get the Mustang.
