Your just not doing it right. My C6 vette would powershift right on through 3rd to about 110 with the tires spinning. Good fun. The Camaro hooks better but they put a weak (terrible excuse for) clutch in to protect the weak half shafts.

Hmmm, I must be doing something wrong... Every time I'm at the track and can't feather it enough to stop spinning in first, I bang second and stab it again... Same thing for second going to third... And I haven't broken anything..... Yet...

Faster, harder shifts and the AFM waits a little longer to make an appearance. I believe Traction control is also deactivated. Stabilitrak remains active.

My only question would be...

With an LS3, how does competitive mode effect the cars performance other than launch mode? Would you be able to corner better? etc...

I was not able to "power drift" (in closed track conditions of course) with TC off or in competitive mode (LS3). I had to turn everything off in order to be able to use the rear wheels to push the rear end out in a corner.

In other words Stabilitrack still tried to control drift.

Summer tires / summer conditions.

I agree don't need to insult people...but I think people do get annoyed with reading questions from people when the answer is in the manual...they should already have read the answer or looked there first.

Then they shouldn't read them. Or if they already opened the thread, read and move on, but dont post anything. If they have time to post something stupid and insulting than obviously it didn't keep them from doing something more important so it couldn't have been THAT bothersome to them.

Seriously....so you M6 guys don't do 2nd gear burns at the strip. I would assume you get spinning in 1st, bang 2nd and hold rpm to heat the tires. Isn't that "...a scenario where I am trying to shift gears in the middle of laying down rubber..."

You can't get the rear speed up to get enough heat in the tires in 1st.

Well let's consider... when you buy a new car and want to know how stuff works, what is the most logical first thing to do? READ THE OWNER'S MANUAL!

Apparently, some folks need to be reminded that the Owner's Manual answers a lot of questions. They can find the answer right now, instead of wasting time waiting for the answer from this forum.

Do you realize you are responding to a post from 2011? That said, I do agree with you.
