Yes, but you will need a tuner or chip to override the electronic limiter

155mph top speed

Does an engine tuner like hypertech, diablo, or any others eliminate the top speed limiter?

I would assume that is one of the first things tuned out by any tuner.

If it's on the computer, it can be changed.

I have been curious if anyone that has removed the speed limiter. What is the true top speed of a stock Camaro? 160? 170? 180?

I assume a FI car is pushing near 200 MPH with close to 600 HP at the crank.

160 is where I stopped. After the 4-5 shift there was a drastic difference in pull due to it being in overdrive. I did it on a barren stretch of New Mexico Highway and the car had four people and a trunk full of bags. I'm sure by myself it would have pulled better. I stopped at 160 because the car started a slight float at around 145 and continued to increase as I approached 160. Remember the 4-5 shift occurs around 145 so there is alot of gear left. I have no doubt the car will do 180, maybe another day with my helmet on.

wow really.. suspension might need tweaking for highspeed..
really would think GM would of address this in wind tunnel testing..
worst case add front splitter and rear spoiler..

The car definitely had a rear CG the way it was loaded. That probably affected performance.

Really? 4th gear will go to 145? or did you mean 145 in 5th going into 6th?
Those 3 other people let you take them that fast?

Sounds like if you plan on doing some high speed runs at a minimum some suspension upgrades are going to be needed to lower and stiffen the ride.

3-4 happens at around 99MPH. At a 1-1 ratio in fourth 145ish is the shift speed. It was a lets see what this thing can do!
