Hey, I saw a Camaro drink a Red Bull and sprout wings then it flew away. Sorry, no video but it really did happen.

I've lived in the area for 30 years, never seen one take place. Most of them happen at night with a crack head driving. The crack head always ends up loosing, you know as well as I do the PCSO don't mess around. They will over power you and take you out, they hate punks...

He had a old 350 rocket engine and was running all the high performing mods and a 200 shot. Needless to say he was already going 110 when the cop pulled out and he floored and lost sight of the cop very easily and pulled off on the next exit ducked off into some back roads and found a busy parking lot and parked the car and we went into a store for close to an hour. After that, left and nothing ever came of it. So if you are smart enough there are easy ways to out run the police and their radios. Not saying you should, but just saying its a little easier to do then what some of you make it out to be.
20 yrs ago I passed a cop that was entering the highway, I was doing 125 in my corvette. immediately his lights went on and I knew i would go to jail. I floored it to 160 for 13 miles. I didn't realize it was going to be so far when I initially ran and of course the cop was a 5.0 mustang. anyway he remained about a mile back of me for the whole way. I exited the highway and hit left and rights to the point i was actually lost in BFE. I was actually on my way to a job interview at the time. i was shaking like a leaf for quite awhile afterwards and I took backroads and avoided the highway with that car for a few days. I wouldnt do that again unless I knew i was going to jail regardless. anything over 100mph and your going to go to jail

I was with a guy who did this one night in a GTI...shut his lights off and punched it. The cop never knew where we went. Guy used the e-brake to slow it down and cut it into a side road. Cop flew on by.

It was the LAST TIME I rode with that idiot anywhere. Ever.

Don't do the crime if you cannot pay the fine or do the time.

Ironically, the new Caprice that GM’s building to replace the ageing and impotent front wheel drive Impala’s is based on the Camaro’s frame. It’s rear wheel driven and is equipped with a V8. Don’t worry; our cars are still faster that these new police vehicles……unless you take into consideration the police have radios, spike strips and mutual aid agencies that will come out of the woodwork to help out a brother/sister in blue. Be safe and enjoy your Camaro. There are cops out there that like them and own them…Just Like You!

Take it from some one who install police video equipment for years. If they get you on video ... they have your plates. The new systems are always recording and will mark 30 sec to 1 min before the lights are activated. Not worth chancing it. Keep the speed to the tracks where its safer to play.

Or you may end up like this guy or worse.

Lets be smart and keep the 5th gen Camaro name in high standing.

yeah yeah yeah, we all know. But if a cop it sitting one way and at a standstill and a car blews by at 110 or higher, they aren't capturing that plate for one and two we are just giving different situations and all high speed chases aren't always a chase when the cop has to try and play catch up and can't. Thats all I'm saying.

As far as the video, we aren't talking street racing here and for every street racing video gone bad you can find double those just from everyday driving situations in general.

One time I shot a hooker with a rocket launcher just so I could get my money back for the deed. Damn people called the cops on me and I had to drive through Liberty City with the damn cops on my ass. Lets just say it ended with me dying in a blaze of glory with tanks, helicopters, and the FBI coming after me. True story, sorry no vid though.

It is for onstar, but it will be irrelevant in 5-10 as the magnetic pulse becomes cost effective and more condensed. Right now it disables a whole block of cars...

And to the OP, not really sure how you beat the police when they stop following because of roadway congestion, policy regulations, and safety of the public....and the guy gives up anyways. This thread is already turning into a "it is not easy to run from the police" discussion. I completely agree it is very easy, mainly because cops are very restricted on what they can and cannot chase yet. As many cars begin to install video cameras...all the cop has to do is relay in the information to additional units to visually identify who the driver is when he hits congested areas to slow him down... then wait at your house.

As much as I hate the concept of "big brother"...those red light cameras will be red light, speed enforcement, and identification tools in the next 3-5 years and be utilized for evidence in court. Right now it is only for vehicle ID with relation to red light enforcement. Enjoy those felonies..you aren't a criminal until you are caught, right?
