SS Camaro beat police cars in high speed chase

I just seen a Camaro leave 6 police cars. After about 10 seconds they realized they had no chance and quit. I wish they were chargers and not vics lol

You can outrun the Motor, but you can't outrun the Motorola..

--well, until GM starts replacing the LS3 with Dimension, Warp or Hyper Drives. Which would actually be kind of cool.. If passing luminal velocity does in fact allow one to travel through time as well as space, imagine being able to watch yourself run the 1/4 mi live because you'd already done it so fast you arrived at the end before you left the beginning..

Why waste gas chasing it when you can just get the guy up ahead to lay out spike strips?

Many PD's have must terminate pursuit policies for certain minor traffic offenses. Much of the restriction in pursuits comes out of lawsuits and liability when pursuits end in crashes and innocent motorists are hurt and killed.

You meant left 6 police cars until he got up to 25mph and was blocked by all the traffic in front of him and gave up. Not sure you can get over that speed this time of day anywhere in Pinellas County.

Now if you want to see something really interesting, put the Camaro up against its long-wheelbase Australian brother...

IIRC, OnStar can shut your car off remotely if you are involved in a pursuit. I would reckon in the next 10 years, technology will be in police cars that allows the officer to send an electronic signal to the pursued vehicle to shut it down.

They actually have the technology now, with magnetic pulse but is not cost effective to use.

Thanks slingshot, that's the technology I was referring to. That is a little ahead of it's time today but in the near future maybe.
