OK, fellow forum members!! My 4.11's have been installed although, I personally have not been able to drive it yet since I am on deployment. However, my wife has been putting on the break in miles on the car. She has zero problems with these gears. Highway driving is still under 2000rpm at 70mph. There is no noise what so ever from the gears (it was installed correctly). She is not a car freak like me and if she thinks these gears are good, then I believe that all of you will think the same.

Sicily Italy!! Gonna be home early June!!

Ohh, a plug for Chase at Apex-Speed!! He has great pricing on the gears and install kit as a combo. Just go to his sight and put them in the cart. Your discount will be made automatically. Excellent company to work with!

My wife recently had a TSP cam, UD pulley, T-stat, Fast intake, Ported TB and a custom tune by lethal performance! The car also has 1 3/4 LT's, no cats, 3in MBRP exhaust, and an AirAid CAI. When she drove it home she said it was jerking in 6th gear, I took that as the car is bucking under 1700 RPM's! Which I expected from adding the cam, so i guess the real question is will 4.11's fix this problem or would 3.73's be a better choice for a daily driver that will drive from state to state when I travel from one duty station to another? Also is it true that Z06 axles would work or should I just get a set of the 600 HP axles?

Yes still live in Iraq?!?!
I highly recommend your next mod be 4.10/4.11's. I have very similar mods as you, I have the G6X3 cam, which is even bigger. I have no bucking or surging in first or sixth gear when fully warmed up. I had the gears before the cam so I can't tell you before and after difference, but judging from other storys like yours, 4.10's are best for big cams. Thank you for your service to our country, God bless.

I had 3.90 in my bbc truck a long timme ago and I loved them, is there a rumor that they will be available? I like them bc they can act like a 3.73 on the highway with the tall stock tires but yet act like a 4.10 with a short tire! If they are coming out with one I will hold off till they do! Have you ran your car at the track yet? are you still rolling with the stockers? Any axle problems? Nice numbers too!!
No.. I havn't ran it at the track because I'm waiting to forge the bottom end...I've had no problems with anything on the car (knock on wood) but am building it up solid before I start testing the limits...DSS 1400 hp axles and driveshaft on order along with total BMR suspension to go in at the end of the month...after that will eventually come the stroking, cam, fuel upgrades and clutch....still riding stock wheels/tires. For whatever reason I have a hard time parting with the money involved with upgrading wheels/tires...will wait on those for a awhile.

Why are the gears for GM vehicles so expensive compared to Ford?

@ steeleshark, lucky guy to be in Italy, "AIRBORNE"!! I was in 2-505 in the 82nd and 4-101 PFDR Co. at the 101st! Never got to serve in the 173rd!! My buddy Mann and White were out there though! Thanks for the heads up about getting the gears from Chase too!! Have fun in June and take care!!

@ AG383 thanks for the input on the gears, I think I will actually be getting them afterall, I have heard nothing but good things about them!! No problem, it's a job like anything else, it's just not for everyone!! Thanks though!!

@ S-eatin-grin I think I will ending up going the same route you did as far as the axles, drive shaft, and suspension go!! Good luck on your build and hope you have fun when you make it to the track!! I def agree with you on the rims and tires, but give it some time and the weld wheels will drop in price, probably just in time for when you get that stroker back!! LOL

@ koj simply bc the cars are new, the rearend is IRS, and not to many people make them right now! Supp;y and demand, give it a couple of years and it will be like everything else and drop in price!!

So 4.11s wouldnt be that unreasonable for a daily driving about 30 highway miles a day?

Really only concerned with RPMs in 6th gear at about 55 mph.

RPMs at 55 mph in 6th gear, even w/ 4.10s, are almost too low to cruise at, IMHO. I don't even like to shift to 6th until at least 60. If I recall, I'm barely at 1500 RPMs at 55 in 6th.

Thanks for the plug and your order!

My best guess is that the the Camaro gears are still brand new and they are still trying to recoup development, tooling, etc costs. In time the price should come down. The Mustang gears have had a lot of years and units out the door so it is all money in the bank at this point.
