no tires no shot! I got stuck in less than an inch of snow if there was any bit of an incline

As others said, tires AND knowing how to drive. I've driven mine through 2 seasons. I also daily drove my 2000 Z28 through 6 winter seasons.

My SS is a daily driver. It does not handle as well as a front wheel drive, but it is exceeding better than my 4th gen 2000 Camaro was in the snow.

I had BF Goodrich G-Force KDWS on my '97 Z28 and for an all season tire they were worthless, no better than the stock Goodyear performance tires. I'd really like to get the SS if you can keep the rear wheels from breaking loose ?

Not having snow tires is the key. Any car without good all-weather tires will suck in snow. Duh.

Camaros, though, do not suck in the snow...let's be clear on this.

Summer Tires are not for winter!

+1 that comment. Got stuck on a hill in Maple Valley this winter - will be replacing my summer tires with all-seasons when they wear out.

I bought a set of the LS wheels with Goodrich tires, and my Camaro LT did excellent in the snow. I dare say it did better than the awd CTS4 I used to have. All because of tires. Never got sideways even once. Naturally, the tires would get loose from time to time, but stabilitrak took care of that.

btw, narrower is better is not true in all cases. in slush, yes it's true. Less slush/snow to displace. But on packed snow and ice, wider is better.

one other thing; unless you spend ALOT of time on snow and ice, snow tires are a waste. you are better with good all season tires. Dedicated snow tires wear VERY quickly on pavement.

Key is snowtires...Drove the 93 Z/28 with snows and never had a problem. Same with the 2010, in fact I believe it to handle better. Had the 93 for 17 yrs. Summer tires are just that summer tires, and for midwest winters all season usually aren't enough.
