Camaro in snow

Now that the Camaro has been out for awhile I just know there are a few people who have driven ther 5th gen in the snow. Plain and simple , how are they especially as compaared to the 4th Gen Z28's which in my opinion were the worst Camaro ever in the snow. I've driven every generation except the 5th in the snow and I know the V 6's are usually better because of less torque. I do have another car I can drive on really bad snowy days but I really would like to drive it in let's say 3 inches of snow or less. My 4th Gen Z28 rear tires will break loose on idle in 1 inch of snow. The traction control is worthless for snow [ and not really designed for that anyway.] I'd like to buy my Camaro soon but I really am sick of having 3 cars. I'm afraid I won't be happy with the v6

I don't know what you guys are talking about. I've driven mine through two New England winters as a daily driver. It has been one of the best cars in snow I've owned. I DO have winter tires though... that is the key. Get some good tires and you'll love it.

I'd like to hear from the SS crowd. With Blizzaks, my LT was awesome, no issues at all and drove it in deep snow at times.

I've driven 3rd, 4th and 5th Gens in snow. All with winter tires. 5th Gen is far best of all of them. Best weight ratio front to rear helps alot!!!

I have the LS model and drove all winter, except for our worst snow fall and that was because my snowblower broke so I used the truck.
Got caught at work a couple of times when it starting snowing and had no problems.
Car came with all seasons and I left those on there and had no problems, will I buy "winter tires" next year? Maybe.
DRiven rwd drive vehicles all my life and have to say that the 5th gen is great in the snow, I feel more confident in it than I do in my van!
Winter tires I do suggest if you live in an area that is very snowy and the snow stays on the road, I have driven with all seasons all my life and seems to work fine for the conditions I have in SE Michigan.

I gotta agree with alohabr. I have an ls with the stock 18 tires and I never had an issue all winter. I bought this car to drive it year round and it has proven to be a great year round car.

I've got Yokohama all seasons on mine, and I made it through the winter here in Cleveland...oh wait, it's snowing again here, so I guess it's still winter Anyway, the only problems I had were when the snow was so deep, it was up to the underbody. Otherwise, you just have to take it easy. This was my 1st RWD car, too. I think driving with the P-zeros in the snow is a big no no, though.

+1

I'm in north western PA and have never had a problem in the snow. The camaro is better than my old Wrangler. Snow tires are key to driving this car in the snow. The stock summer tires are useless, hard as rocks with no grip.

I Put a 19" Scorpion Ice&Snow/wheel combination on and it handled the snow very well. I was quite surprised actually. As long as you don't turn off the Track/Stabil features.
