New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont have the front plate law as well...my Camaro's front fascia was murdered at the dealer with a plate holder

WA has a front plate law but apparently there's a teensy loophole: IF there is no mounting hardware from the factory (such as really old cars and new Camaros) attaching it to the vehicle the front plate is not required. My dealer did not drill holes for the mounting hardware and told me why they didn't.
Now, if I were out being a jerk, the LEO could pull his jerk card too and push the license plate thing, but I drive nicely and am very polite if pulled over. No front plate for me please!

Thanks for that info Tori! I have the plate holder and hardware in my trunk, was keeping it "just in case" - now I can throw it away!! The plate itself is in my glovebox - I can toss it on the dash if I get pulled over...

MO has the front plate law while KS does not and neither does AR. The dealership that I bought my car from does not even install the plate kit on the Camaro. In talking to the GM at the dealership about it (85.00 fine-big whoop) he said because all of the dealerships in MO do a lot of interstate trading with other states that do not require a front plate, drilling holes into the front bumper makes the car unsaleable in the states that don't require a front plate. It sucks and the law is completely useless as it messes up the look of a car, makes more waste and does absolutely nothing to increase safety.

So let's make it a green issue. Less license plates ending up in land fills less greenhouse gasses being created to manufacture these license plates and the state can still charge the same amount for registration.

LOL, that's funny. I'd like to believe that they're just trying to offer good old fashioned service there but it's Jersey. They'll pump your gas for you or else.

And in Memphis, Tennessee, a woman is not to drive a car unless a man warns approaching motorists or pedestrians by walking in front of the car that is being driven. (Talking of dumb, outdated automobile laws)

I live in NY on Long Island, have my car over 1 year without front plate, never been bothered about it out here even when i have been pulled over for something else. Now NYC is another story, cop at entrance to mid town tunnel flagged me over and wrote me up for no other reason but not having from plate. I paid the $50 ticket and moved on.
