I wonder how feasable that would be...I mean the tech is there (i.e. Mustang color chooser) it'd just have to be implemented in a different way...
Thanks! I thought of it while I was working on a manip of those gauges. I was thinking they are kind of small and hard to read, and that a little light would further clutter the whole cluster. Then I had the idea that the whole gauge would change color.

This is what I imagined that the difference would look like:

Yeah! Take that to GM! It really, honestly, is a good idea!

After seeing that, I have a hard time thinking what other options GM would have to accomplish that goal.

What do you mean, 'to accomplish that goal'?

Both the general readability and display of warning lights. They really can't put up a separate warning light on the dashboard, and like he said, a separate warning light on the middle console would be too cluttered.

Wow, that is a great idea BalonyWolf. Maybe Fbodfather could forward this to the proper department and see if it gets implemented?

It's sooooo posible, too....Dragon's thinking (in the lowest possible state, too) an LED strip around the inside edge of the gauge (where you couldn't see it) that was a red LED(or red filmed) that lit up, and the rest of the gauge (whatever color it may be darkens) so you'd get an effect like this...

I repeat, insert submarine movie warning buzzer. The whole cabin would light up and you'd have an annoying torpedo fired siren going.

But no, the light would be bright enough to catch your attention.

Honestly though, wouldn't a big bright red light, and a ding be a little more attention grabbing, then a ding, and a teeny, tiny Gas Pump icon?

yeah a big red light and loud torpedo launch sound wouldn't be street legal and if your going through a corner at a high speed and it goes off you might go off (the road/track)
