1. Unless you are a cop, you have no concept of the dangers we face everyday.

2. If you don’t want to get tickets, don’t break the law.

3. Hell yes we defend our own…no one else is going to.

Now when he goes to Raleigh or Washington he has to present the bill to the senate and house. I'm not sure which is first. Then they elect the appropriate committee and sub committee to vote on it. After that there will be a lot of law breaking and under the table favor dealing to get it passed. Now, if you get paid to enforce the law as you say. How about you start enforcing the laws on the rich, the politicians, and the famous. Not just the guy with some window tint or that happens to have a exhaust that is louder than normal. Last time I checked i haven't seen my senator get pulled over for his window tint on his black Suburban.

I've got connections, you think your the only cops on this forum? I have several law enforcement friends. I know how the system works and I know how to avoid it.

You give a real little person some power and it goes to there head. This why I have no respect for police. Never had a problem with police. Only had one ticket in 45 years. The worst ones are the young ones. Pay the ticket and move on. It is sad for a cop to waste there time on window tint than real crimes.

I sure hope your "connections" aren't allowing you to have access to other people’s private information. That’s what we call a bad career move.

Sorry you have no respect for someone who does a job most people can't or wouldn't (i'm not talking about Mayberry cops here). Even more sorry that you have no respect for someone who has never given you a problem. I agree that there are more important things to waste our time on that window tint. That being said there are some times of the year that we are given a grant from the state to do strictly traffic enforcement (which means there are extra guys on to do just that, and we are not taking any away from "real crimes." When that happens, that means stops for window tints...it also means you may get a warning or "talk yourself into a ticket." I have not stopped a car strictly for window tint but I have stopped cars for window tint that were acting suspiciously (i.e., in a parking lot of a closed business). Once I got 4 kids who had just broken into about 13 boats at the marina....not one of those owners wished I wasnt stopping for window tint. Honestly, from me, you will always get a warning if you are polite and respectful....if you really want a ticket, that can be arranged as well.

I have been pulled over 20+ times in 25 years of driving and have only gotten two tickets for blatant wrong doings, nothing extreme though. I will give the utmost respect to a LEO, but if they don't want to respect me (power tripping or a know it all when they are wrong) then I will not give respect back just because they are a police officer.

We have our windows tinted within TX law. If they ever try to say a thing about my tint I will kindly or not so kindly (see above) direct them to the tinting place in town that abides by TX law. If you don't abide by the law then you do not have a single leg to stand on. Plain and simple.

just a last quick note and then I am done on this subject. So of these places claim that they are installing "legal" tint when they are not. In Ohio this is how it works. Everyone knows the legal limit is 50% so these shops tell people they will install 50% tint. Sounds simple right...not so quick. Every car from the factory already comes tints at around 73% (73% available light shining thu). So when the shop puts the 50% on top of the already slightly tinted windows, you get readings well below the legal limit. Just beware of this when you go to get your windows tinted.

I too, as with anyone, hate to get pulled over for anything. Always remember that the person pulling you over is at work and he has a boss and a VERY specific list of rules to follow. He has a family at home that counts on him to feed, cloth and house them. And more than likely he is, if not a bit nervous, then very cautious pulling over a stranger. I have a few good friends that are out there everyday and I love what my one buddy told me. He said, "You don't know wether your next encounter will be with someone's grandma or a serial mass murder, so I start the stop off like they are both."

I appreciate the police when I need them, so they gain my respect. As far as the ****y ones, yea, there are ****y people you want to punch in the face in all lines of work an business. Some people are just a-holes, period.

I have felt unfairly pulled out of a crown in bumper to bumper NY traffic for speeding, when I was following the speed of traffic. When it comes down to it, I did not blame the cop, he was doing what he was getting paid and was told to do. I think on the other hand, having lived in NY for 41 years and driven well over 1 million miles there, they are not doing anything for the safety of the public, IT IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. And trust me, those blood sucking NY politicians are all about the money.

Suck it up and pay, it was simply your turn. Sad to see cops and the public clashing in these posts. Without the Public the cops have no paycheck and without the cops we have chaos......... you guys all need to face reality.

Now everyone kiss an make-up!! After all we are all one thing and that is owners of the best car on the road!!

Go to your Doctor and get a note stating you need tint at this percentage due to vision problems I have a female friend get pulled over by a state trooper recently and the trooper decided to fill her in on this tip and she passed it along.
