Hey guys got a quick question. Not sure if this should go under the cosmetics section so mods feel free to move it.

Im going to be getting tints done on Tuesday (20%) The shop is using solar guard tint and its metalized.
Now im not sure if this is the type of tint people had radio receptions issues with or not.
Is metalized bad and has anyone else heard or have used this brand for window tint before?

Not sure. If its not Llumar I dont put it on my vehicles

I've got plain old 3M metalized on all my cars, and have zero issues with radio ...

That's what I got on my Camaro - guaranteed for life (not sure if that's my life or the cars)..

my mother had a car done with llumar and it turned to crap in about 5 years. the guy did stand behind the tint job and just redid the entire car. apparently the tint came from a defective batch. I have global tint on the last 4 vehicles and have to admit it is very good quality and have had no issues at all.

I just had 18% carbon tint put on mine. Carbon doesn't have any metal and is guaranteed for life. The shop spoke about the possiblity of interference, but the decision was mine. I didn't want to chance it, but was mainly concerned about the quick deterioration of the metal based, so I opted to pay $50 additional bucks for the better tint.

When I am ready for it, I plan on just getting the back and corner windows done. Probably with 5%. I'd love to do the side windows but NJ doesn't allow it, and I really don't want any problems either.

I will have to look up Llumar, and Global Tint just to read up on them. I usually go to a place that does stereo installations, etc... for my tint and I am fine with it. A place near me called: "Auto Image and Security" are who I like.
