Heat soak at the track with both covers. I found the car cooled down faster with them off so I could go back up quicker and get better times. Mine stay off.

This.
The engine will cool faster with the covers off the car. Both cover have insulation to cut down on noise, but their still covers trapping heat.

Put more covers over the engine. Do you think that will help the engine get fresh air and cool faster?

At the track, why does everyone open their hood to cool their engine/intake faster? Why not leave the hood closed (its just one more cover over the engine).

I know from track experience that the engine/intake cools faster with the hood open and the intake covers off.

The more covers over the engine, the slower the cooling.

Imagine putting two covers over your blower/engine? One would act to keep the blower's noise down and the second would just cover everything so you can't see it.

I don't think too many people would agree with that idea. All that would do is increase heat.

Guys, the 4th gens have same type intake and no cover. Is our intake the same nylon material under the "base" cover under the "looks" cover? If so It doesnt absorb heat, reason for the design in the first place and is a dry intake, no fuel so only air rushing in at speed.Lots of tests in the past and these arent affected much or at all by heat that I am aware. 4th gens could always be hot lapped and no changes.I always heard thee were just for looks and noise suppression. Alot of cars have them, my Camry included
