So much for quality....

Our ultimate goal is to provide a solution that has no adverse side effects (mainly increased NVH). In addition, all of the solutions will be "retro-fitable" meaning the new bushings will work with your current shifter. I can't get into too many details as several of our improvement theories have yet to be lab/field verified and validated. But we are hoping to have something low to no cost as well as possibly an "extreme duty" race version bushing set as well.
I've already sensed an issue in mine. HURST used to mean quality.
I guess all their technology goes towards fire and rescues Jaws of Life.

I'm very interested in a solution too! I've had my Hurst Billet shifter now for about 2 years and it has always had some slop. I was thinking of doing the bushings from the other thread but I'll wait to see what Hurst has for a solution! Here's a link to the other thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=226328

Seriously. Don't wait for this so called "fix". Just get the damn bushings from NH-SS and call it a day. I'll gladly pay 30 bucks for his bushings than wait god knows how long for Hurst's fix...which doesn't have any guarantee that it's a solid fix.

I installed my billet plus shifter last week. Went to the track the weekend following the install and while I was there I noticed it getting some slop in it. Only been a week and feels like it has at least 1 inch of slop. I called hurst several times today, but never got anyone to answer. It was later in the evening though, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. I spoke with NH-SS on here. Probably gonna buy the bushings from him. Everyone that's commented on his product seem more than happy. I'm happy with my shifter, other than this little problem.

Got my bushings from NH-SS but not installed yet. I'll be damned if I'm gonna wait for Hurst to do something about it!

Hurst will never offer a real fix for this problem simply because there are literally thousands of these shifters out there. Multiply that by what it would cost them to have precision 2 piece bushings manufactured like the ones NH-SS is offering. Of course they will offer as many plastic (or whatever they are made of) bushings as you want. They probably pay a few cents each for them so it is cheap damage control. The rest of the shifter is well engineered and made of quality material. It's a shame they dropped the ball on the bushings. I suppose this would be one of those cases where if you want it done right, do it yourself. Which is exactly what NH-SS did. I would have gladly paid $30 more for this shifter if it came with this bushing.

Here is my reaction posted on NH-SS's thread after installing this bushing:

"All I can say is UNBELIEVABLE! The shifter has absolutely no play. The best part is how you can actually feel the transmission click into gear through the shifter. Reverse used to be a little hard to shift into sometimes, but now it clicks right in every time."

This bushing is also self lubricating since it is made from OilLite and is well worth $30.
