it doesnt even have to be a new car for people to disrespect your ish. i was sitting in my truck (2001 tacoma) with my girl and this pathfinder parks next to us. the people in it looked right at me and when they got out, WHAM!!! they threw their door open right into my truck. dumb chick that got out said "oopsies" in a non-chalant voice and walked away...i bet now they are wondering why their p.o.s. pathfinder has a nice new "stripe" running along the side of their pathfinder

Here is a great site that talks about the best parking spots and the parking spots to avoid to minimize the chances of door dings and damage.... it includes lot of pictures of the good and bad locations to park your car. Good stuff!

The answer is to park near other nice cars. People with nicer cars know how to respect other nice cars! Plus, they don't want to ding their own doors either...

Amen to that! I like to park next to other Silverados or Sierras, if possible. The ones that are washed+shined up nicely you know are well taken care of. I've come out to the parking lot after work before and found that others did the same, ending up with 4-5 similar trucks all parked in a row

It's amazing how careless people are about stuff like door dings, or pulling too far up in the opposite parking space and mashing their front bumper into yours.

GM has got to get a handle on the bumper/body color paint match. I've seen other pics here of recent, customer-delivered cars that have a poor match, especially Red Jewel and IBM (which happen to be my favorite colors). I know there are technical challenges to get painted plastic to look the same as metal, but just about every other carmaker seems to have figured it out. And I don't see this problem on most other GM cars either.
