Thanks, BigBlock69RS! That's amazing that those are smog legal now.

I watched the video mentioned in the thread, and it sounded excellent, even with just the non-NPP mufflers.

I looked at the Camaro LS3 vs. the Corvette LS3 exhaust manifolds, and the Camaro has a log manifold, while the Corvette has more of a Tri-Y with a center outlet. That would explain why the Corvette sounded better to me.

I think these headers are the answer.

unless you get the oem cats back on the shorties i am pretty sure its illegal. actually i am not sure if even touching the oem manifolds or cats is technically legal in california.

havent seen any intakes with a carb sticker either.

i have long tubes and would pass the sniff test here in socal just not an inspection part where they actually know and care.

You can put anything you want on your California car as long as it has a California Air Resources Board Executive Order number, which the American Raciing Headers do (EO-D-693). That means they have been tested and proven not to increase emissions, and will not get hassled at any smog station.

I like the tone of my dual mode exhaust. I just wish the volume was a little louder when it opens up. Even so, I am very happy with it.

Funny he likes the ZL1 note but not the NPP. Basically they are the same exhaust coming out of a 6.2L. Maybe because you where inside the SS driving it and not outside hearing it go by.

My bud has a ZL1 and says that my 1LE has a deeper sound than his on idle.
