You know, the OP never said he wouldn't/didn't wear his seat belt. He simply asked how to turn off the chime. You know, I wear my seat belt most of the time. But, there are times when I don't put it on and the chime is annoying. Yes, I know it is there to remind me, but then we get back to the "choice" thing.

I say wear your seat belt too, but it is a legit question.

gees, everytime someone asks a question about something that may not be legal or safe, they get flamed.......... and never get an answer to the original question.

who knows how to put red halos on a 2010 Camaro?
.....or what its like to have tint the front winshield?
.....or what good street race stories are out there?
.....or how to delete the cats?

I guess we will never know.....

you guys that are spending your time filling up these threads with reasons why he should buckle his seat belt, or why the "red halos" will get you pulled over............. need to find your own "tree hugger" or "law abiding" or "saftey freak" thread.

lighten up.... gees

its to bad that if there is ever an answer to his question.... I will never see it because it will be lost in all the whiner baby posts

let his family worry about his death or dismemberment

I posted some ideas on page one.

Other than that, just wanted to say 'In before thread lock" and also suggest you guys put on some fireproof undies, cause there's lots of flames in here!

In the spirit of the forum I'll give an answer: there most definitely are 2 wires going into the buckle that you can splice together and never worry about it again.

In the spirit of I think your choice is a lame ass pile of bullshit, In 11 years in the fire department I've cleaned up enough brains off windshields and roadways to know youre a complete idiot for not wearing your seatbelt, espeically someone who has dodged death so much, to risk your life for such a trivial inconsequential thing is beyond retarded.

Try it from my point of view cutting a little girl out of the back of her car and her asking me if mommys ok.. I lie through my teeth and say yeah sure kid, while whats left of mom is splattered all over the dash. Its not a story, thats the reality of your "choice".

Go get some replacement ends, and put a bit-o-strap on them, and plug them in when you don't want the alarm going off.

You know, like with a bag of stuff and what not.

you know, you are absolutely right, he never said he wouldnt wear his seat belt. I apologize to the OP for my wise crack earlier in this thread. if it is JUST the chime that he wants to stop than that is understandable. at any rate, life is waaaaay to short for people to take these forums too seriously. lightin up(or dont, your choice) and have a great weekend people

Just be SURE to fix that modification BEFORE you sell your car in the future for the sakes of the next owners. Not going to judge or flame you. I believe you already have your answer on how to disable the chime...just please fix it when you sell.

I don't have a Camaro, and I always wear my seatbelt, but I still hate the chime (on my GTO) because it's beeping at me as soon as I start the car. I always start the car before putting on my seat belt, so now I have to listen to it beep for 5-10 seconds until I am ready to put on the belt. If it was up to me, the warning chime would not be activated unless the car is actually in gear.

Same goes when I park & turn off the car. I usually take off my seat belt before shutting the car off. More beeping.

In the GTO, I think there is a wire running under the seat that controls the seat belt chime...but I couldn't find it easily, so I live with the beeping.

I always wear my seatbelt but that chime is DAMN annoying. It goes through the radio, so you have to get in and do some tuning to turn it off. Crossing the wire at the seat belt is the best way.

I am with you though, I don't need my car bit(hing at me too! I get enough crap through the day.

When I was in the military, I was going on leave and decided to get drunk before I left. Well thank goodness I didn't buckle up because I passed out and stretched out on the front seat, crossed the center line and the top of the car was torn off as I went under a tractor trailer.

No this did not happen , I was trying to think of some good reason not to wear a seat belt..... there just aren't any
