Ok, I will be different. Have ramps, have jacks, but also have shallow pit about 15" deep so just drive over. However years ago I realized I have to get rid of the oil. The place I took it to does oil changes so I figured since I am going there anyway, well you know the rest.

It's a FJ200 by SnapOn, yes it was expensive, but with a 3 year warranty on the pump, front wheels held on by a lock nut and had a grease fitting, and is 3.5 inches at the lowest and 23.5 at the highest. I'll use my SnapOn jack all day, everyday.

Use all 3 ramps to get the jack under it then place jack stands

Yep. Exactly. I jack up, drain, lower, drain the rest, then jack it back up.

I have. Try it. It'll pour out. Make sure you're on a level surface. Changing it on a sloped driveway won't help.

For some reason, on the V8, Chevrolet put the drain plug about halfway back on the oil pan. Every other vehicle I have owned, it has been at the rear. I don't know how much drainage ability it costs when using ramps, but I would imagine maybe a pint. I haven't had to deal with it, since I'm still using the free oil changes from the dealer.... Check out this video..

For those of you who use jacks, what points do you use?

Do you use the pinch-seam as shown in the manual for the factory jack?

I'm considering getting one of these:

Well then, I stand corrected. I couldn't remember on the Camaro because the pan is covered and this isn't a DD so oil changes happen once a year. My other 4 cars are like I said. I'll pay more attention when I change oil this Fall for storage. Thanks.

Well I don't know about y'all saying using ramps is bad because it leaves oil in pan. I will say yes it leaves some, maybe a cup? I know 8 quarts puts it on the full mark and not over filled. So it can't be leaving much.
