The best option to lower a 1LE are DSE/JRI or RideTech coilovers. JPSS Z/28 Light or the Z/28 full kit from GM are clear performance upgrades, but they will not lower your 1LE.

You have lots of options, but a clearer picture of how you plan to use your 1LE would help get a suspension plan more dialed in for you. I'll be happy to help in any way I can.

This will be the kit I will be going with. I believe they are the best of the best. What do you all think?

The picture below is a general idea how it'll look. Different wheels, no decals but close.

Hey JP, I heard the Z28 suspension lowers the car a little bit, maybe a half inch. Is this not accurate?

I just did a a full GM Z/28 install on Mr. Wyndham's 1LE. His 1LE is a year old with some miles on it. The new Z/28 kit actually raised his car a bit. Consider that the difference between fresh springs and 1 year old springs.

Actually, a bagged suspension set up right can handle great.

Lowering can be risky if you're not careful. You chance to change the camber in a way that is not beneficial and hurtful to cornering. Contact Justice Pete or NorCal ZL1 for more information. Don't lower w/o "knowing" exactly what you're doing?

I don't like today's hyper lowered look. Is that bagging? I say "whatever". Once you start dorking around like that you better be prepared to spend even more money to make sure the hyper lowering doesn't adversely affect your car.

This Camaro is on Z/28 DSSV struts and coils. We lowered it using JPSS proprietary technology. We modify the front strut tower and add Steering Axis Inclination while raising the entire strut assembly up almost 30mm.

Combine the SAI gain with a full degree of Caster from Caster Locks and yo have a 5th Gen that drives incredibly well. I am not ready to release the details of what we did in the rear, but as you can see this Camaro is road course low, road course ready.

I really like the DSSV valving. the zero point is very high, but the split between the high speed and low speed circuits delivers a very civil level of ride quality. The Z/28 spring rates are spot on. The only downside to going Z/28 DSSV i it cannot be adjusted.

The DSE/JRI is state of the art, but does not have the benefits of the DSSV valve stack.

On a budget, the base RideTech coilovers are outstanding. The top end RideTechs are very good.

I work with all three and like like all three. Which is right for a particular client depends on the details of the build and the use of the finished Camaro.

No offense but why did you ask "what do you all think?" in the original post if you don't care what people think? They're giving you right suggestions based on the truth. You can't go around saying you don't care what people think when you asked. They told you springs are better due to the 1LE suspension that is specifically for this car. You honestly would be wasting it if you bagged it instead of Pfadt springs or another springs. You should have gotten a normal SS if you wanted that and make it look to what you want. :roll eyes:

On your truck maybe. Even then it's questionable.

Couldn't care less

Don't ask a group of guys in the 1LE section about a bagged suspension if you aren't prepared to hear the harsh truth. MOST people who buy a 1LE buy it for it's unique handling aspect.

Well, if your going to burn $3500 on a 1LE suspension option and take it off and not use it. Just hand me the $3500, I'll put it to good use on my car, how much was the Pedders Supercar Coilovers?

I say go for it. I am looking at that kit myself for my SS. Who cares what everyone thinks. I don't. I also don't track my car and built it more for show then anything. It's your car do what you want but I say go for it.
