I don't know if you're joking or not, but that was my exact response. I was thinking someone is calling a tilt wheel a telescoping wheel. But it tilts and telescopes using the same lever. Unlock and tilt up and down or yank it toward you.

I'm due for new phones anyway. I'll have to see if Verizon has any that do that.

Holy crap I'm gonna have to try that when I get my car back from the Body shop. I'm serious, didn't know that either. I just thought it was a stupidly excluded feature.

Thinking about it yeah my old phone did that too it was a Motorola Q and if I went to the menu and clicked "Handsfree Off" it would disconnect from the car and allow me to shut off the radio.

Reason I discovered this is If you are on a bluetooth phonecall and you shut the car off and open the door to get out the bluetooth remains connected and and on and will not disconnect until I shut it off from the phone, even if I use the "transfer call" feature on the radio it stays locked on till I shut off handsfree on the phone.

I haven't tried it with my new phone yet (Motorola Droid), but I would imagine it will work the same.

Ok, haven't tried this, but what if you ended the call from the radio, or the SWC? Would it kill the connection on the cell? I wouldn't think so since it was a Bluetooth connection that connected the handset to the car in the first place. Did anyone try that? Curious...

I often end the call from the steering wheel control, and when I do it disconnects the bluetooth and the phone call.

If you outright "kill the call" from the car, it will disconnect the phone call. "Send" and "End" are part of Bluetooth's hands-free profile, so if the bluetooth device ends the call, it is the equivalent of hitting "end" on the phone directly.

A side note, for any lookyloos that stumble on this thread.
You can transfer to the phone using the phone - then you can transfer back to the car using the radio display. But you can't transfer to the phone using the radio display.
