How fast would it go with 2 people, one of which has done it before named Jeanius? Oh and a six sixer of your favorite beverage.

i would love to throw me some LT's on there but don't want the hassle if i need to smog it often. as for LEO, really? you think they would be bothering you with this stuff?? i can imagine they have more important crimes to prevent, investigate... imo it would take some kind of p$%ck to start giving you crap over a set of headers.
- i know on my truck, i have NEVER had an issue with any LEO, and its a 4" straight pipe from the turbo back - and YEAAH you can hear me coming... and leaving.. lol.
Well - I have $500 in fines, for TWO tickets, that I can support with my statements. The first, I'll admit, I asked for a little because I had my cutout open and I flashed my converter going through an intersection right past a cop I never saw. The next one, was 100% harmless: I was literally following a car at five seconds, going less than the speed limit, on my way to the race track with my cutout closed driving like everyone around me. I was single-handedly picked out and pulled over because I had a sports car, and the very first thing the officer asked for, after the regular license, registration, proof of insurance was to look under the hood... So yes - they do care in certain areas. I won't pretend to know any more than where I live, but they do around here.

GOD - that sounds a lot better than the 4-8 hours it's taken me on the last generation

I've had LT's on for about a month now, and I threw a code the 2 days later, one day after I put the Vararam on.

Since the Vararam was not performing properly I took it off, in the process of taking it off I disconnected the battery to allow the fuel trims to reset.

Well when I turned the car back on, the CEL was gone, and has not came back since.

The gas milage was affected a bit, but it could also be because it has been A LOT colder lately, or the fact that it sings so pretty when you drop the hammer, its hard to keep your foot out of it.

Last fill up, driving conservatively with only 1-2 WOT pulls I got 290 miles out of the tank

Many members have put on LT's without a tune and are having zero problems

I plan on putting on the new Vararam next week when it gets here, and MAYBE getting it tuned in the summer, but the Vararam is supposed to adjust your AFR so we'll see I guess

If your serious I might just take you up on this. I will shop around for some LT prices.

Now that I know I dont have to worry about emissions till 2016, Id love to install some LTs

Installing them just seemed like such a pain, but with a little help......

My schedule REALLY opens up after Feb, I am interning full time right now and I still also work full time, Last week was a 96 hour week for me.

Id be more than willing to lend a helping hand. I got my Dynatechs for a really good price, but I have see some CRAZY deals from Maryland Speed for Jet Hot Coated Kooks, make sure you do your research before making your final decision!

Again, Let me know if I can help you out in any way!

LT's are a NO GO in CA! It isn't worth it IMHO. Get some good shorties and call it a day. The HP difference is really minimal, you won't affect your warranty and you shouldn't have any emissions problems. I lived in SoCal for a # of years and they are getting worse and worse with the laws.

Kind regards,

I have a 2006 Honda and haven't had to smog yet.

6 years baby. Enjoy your mods and if you are still around, Dump the modded out Camaro before then and get a new one! 6 years, not worth a second to be worrying about a silly car.

Right up until you pass one of the wonderful sniffers..... I've done it and honestly for the difference in performance I'd go shorties in CA myself.

State laws make little difference when you understand Federal Law.

A note of (Dis)couragement for all of us to keep in mind.

It's a federal law that the factory Catalyst system can not be modified for 8 years. In cases of OBD Il-equipped vehicles (1996 and later which includes your Camaro), the O.E. manufacturer's 8-year/80,000-mile warranty must have expired and a legitimate need for replacement must be established and documented. Please note that Federal law prohibits removal or replacement of a properly functioning O.E. converter.

What this means is that it is against Federal Law to put Long Tubes, & High Flow Cats on your new Camaro in ANY State, not just California.

So why would a JBA Rep come out with this? We have more CARB EO certified header applications that any other header manufacturer. As a responsible manufacturer of the best Off-Road Racing Long Tubes and Emissions compliant Shorty headers we want everyone to understand what they are purchasing and the laws that govern those products.

Before buying any Header, Supercharger, Cold Air Intake or High Flow Cat system, make sure you know what your long term plans are for that vehicle and understand all your local and federal laws.

You can count on it. Plus a ton of fees to register it in Cali.
