Great. Now I just have to find an airline that will fly my butt to Indy for a reasonable price and not charge me to use the bathroom.:fighting0040:

So the new Camaro is nothing to look forward to? I know that's not what you meant monkey, but come on you guys, lighten up. The new Camaro will already put a solid whuppin' on the Challenger, and will leave every Pony boy crying at the starting line. Short of the exclusive GT500 (honestly, how many of those do you see on the roads?). Even then, that one could end up being a driver's race, you never know.

The cake is there, and it's delicious. All there is now is the short wait to take a bite.

Never fear, the Z/28 will return. The super Camaro, however, may not.

I see quite a few GT500's running around fayetteville/spring lake/ft bragg nc area. . .guess all the army and air force coming back from over seas has a little to do with that.

Yes the camaro is something to look forward to. but as of right now I'm not buying one until I resurrect my Z28. Where as I was going to hold out until the Z28 came out and buy a Z28. weather it be a hipo or track star. and now I have nothing major to look forward to other then seeing 5th gens on the road for the foreseeable future. I will have a drivable Z28 before I own an SS. My Z28 will be able to hug corners and out perform any stock SS or slightly modified SS. Only because the SS is not what I want. and if i end up buying an SS it will be a vert and it will be for nothing but show. I hate show. I want go.

If I convince my gf to buy a vert I won't have to feel the pain of buying a car I don't absolutely want. I want a 5th gen but I want a specific model. and I'm not settling for anything but what I want. I did with my truck and now I regret buying white and non 4x4. I've learned after buying 2 new car/trucks I will not buy anything I do not absolutely want.

I still don't get how this could hurt their achieving 35 mpg by 2020. They just started the ZR1, 638hp, 14city, 20hwy, the CTS-V is coming, 556hp, not sure on mpg, but IF the Z28 were top dog, and they just got away with those two cars, then why cant a top dog camaro be built? GM mind you has ALOT of fuel efficient cars in the pipeline like the Volt, the 40+mpg Cruze, a close to 30mpg Equinox, a plug-in 30-40+mpg Vue Hybrid, and many more. So, if they produce enough high fuel efficiency cars, then limit the number of CTS-V's and ZR1's and top dog Camaros made per year, wouldn't it be possible to get that corprate average of 35 by 2020??

outnumber HiPo cars with more fuel efficient cars.

I believe the cafe is being raised every couple of years a little bit at a time. I can't remember exactly where I read it but 35 mpg is just the over all ending point. it's like a step process to get there.

What if.... the Z28 remains unseen for a while longer....

Then a few years down the line, it shows up sporting a lighter, smaller (displacement wise), but more powerful gen V DI V8, Weighing a few hundred pounds less, with a stiffer, race tuned suspension?

I mean who says the z has to be supercharged?

He never said "Dead", or "cancelled"...just that the original plan isn't viable anymore. And I'll remind you all that we never really new what the original plan was....

There are two groups that Z28 buyers can be safely put into:
---Those who want a supercharger
---Those who want the Z28 and the heritage that goes with it to return

The fact is, this really doesn't effect either group much.

If all you wanted was a supercharger, then you can go buy one and put it on. By the time you go to do this -- you'll have no more warranty on your car than the supercharger manufacturer will offer you for their product.

And if you wanted the Z28 badge and all its glory to return...the good news is -- it HAS NOT been confirmed as DEAD! So relax, and have a little faith.
