I also have a manual SS. I have a similar sound coming from mine. However I didn't notice this sound before they replaced the engine in mine. I have had it back from the dealer a week and a half now and everytime I drive it I hear the sound. I have right around 10,400 miles now. Sounds like something under my driver seat/side area. I thought it was a loose exhaust pipe so after it cooled off I slid underneath and tried finding something loose and came up with nothing. I was sure it had something to do with them pretty much dismantling my car to replace the engine but if you are having the same problem maybe not . Oh well got an appointment for tomorrow morning so they can take a look at it. I'll let you know what I find. I will also ask them to check the sways and the heat shields.

I think the "HEATSHEILD" excuse is BS. Come one, how long has this car been in the planning/testing phase...Your telling me they never took this car on bumpy roads w/ the windows down. I don't believe for a MINUTE that the heatshields are the issue.

I talked to my aunt (whom I bought my Camaro from) and she said she has not had one complaint about rattling sound like I had described from any Camaro she has sold. I am taking her back to the dealer next week and leaving it with them while I am on vacation. Hoping to have the problem resloved before I get back (10 days).

Went yesterday and spent almost 2 hours between driving around with the tech to hear the rattling and then him finding the problem. Ended up being our CAI (not stock) hitting something else inside the engine area. When they put the new engine in the tech adjusted the CAI a little to low and when you hit a bumpy area it was causing it to hit another part. No damage done he readjusted the CAI and so far so good.
