Elduran I had a 2008 M3. it was a nice car but for one too damn small, too expensive, has NO TORQUE and every kid in NY seems to own one.
Honestly the Camaro is much more fun and cooler looking. I have a 2008 M5 as my daily driver and I will tell you the M cars are very expensive to own or lease so please consider that. Ok the M cars are some of the best driving cars for the money hands down but that comes at a price. Keep your LT or do a Turbo kit to it and some suspension work and you will be a happy guy. Heck your gonna own your LT most M owners lease them because they are so expensive so keep that i mind too. When the LT is paid off get yourself something nicer than the M3. I just bought a C63 AMG its a MONSTER, cheaper on a lease than the M3 and a hell of a lot nicer looking. Ok it doesnt handle like the M but for me its fine for a daily driver. |

Guys who all say get the M3 its well over 70k loaded up and they recently quoted me leases upwards of 1500 per month with5-7500 cash drive off. Thats a ton of money for a car with no TORQUE.
buy a freaking Porsche for that money. Reason why I love my SS over the M3 is simple. The SS is a mans car and far from a perfect car so you respect it. The M3 can make any driver feel like Tommy Kendal behind the wheel because of all the drivers aid and technology. Totally different animals. SS also has much more power. Ok the OP has an LT so he should trade up to an SS and call it a day and invest the money into something else. |

I am in the same boat. My wife and I owned an E46 M3 and loved it. Now I have the opportunity to buy a car from 30-40k. There are soooo many choices new and used for that price range. Used- 02 911 turbo, 08 E92 M3, 06-07 Z06, and probably other ones as well. New would be Challenger srt8, Camaro ss, and 370z. My wife is pushing for me to get an M3 and i am leaning towards the Z06 or SS. Oh the horror of trying to choose between the great sports cars of today. Is this what it was like in the late 60's? I am 24 so I can only imagine it might have been even better then.

zq8colorado04 was a genuis as were other said put the extra dough in a 2ss .. Many folks here have uber-sport saloons ... me included but they are for dinner dates and road trips. I like the M3 but I would trade up on the chevy then when needed mod that way you can upgrade your girl as needed ,,,, My.01 cents
