Rotors, pads and chrome

OK, got my rotors and pads swapped out, they look really good! Also got the drivers side of the chrome valve cover package installed last night.

Just wanted to let all members and non members and want to be members to ICE know that we are putting feelers out to see how many would be interested in doing the Sturgis camaro rally in Sturgis SD in june 27th to the 30th not 100 % sure we are going but we are likely doing it as a vac. type of getaway ! Just getting this out so we have plenty of time to plan !

The winter modding bug has hit me very quickly and hard. Really looking at some LT headers and then sell my HF cats or think about finishing with a catback exhaust system for now and then in a couple years get some LT headers.

Ryan:

I know what you mean...I look at my car and think: Hmmm...what is next? I may be interested in the cats if you decide to sell if the price is right.

I'll keep you in mind for dibs on my cats.

UPDATE: Talked to my wife about it. She said I can do it as long as we replace our bathtub/shower stall first. So if all goes according to plan I hope to be doing this by spring. I've got all winter to think about it, but right now its the only thing on my mind. Haven't decided if I am going to do the install myself or if I want to take it to Karl's Performance and let them install it and then tune the car while its there.

Thanks! Your mods look great! The gold bow tie is the first thing that is going to have to change for me. I didn't mind it on the SS but it's an eye sore for me on the ZL1.

Cruzin,
Look at the lighted front and rear Bow Ties, I think they look really neat! Of course there are so many mods you can do, does it ever stop, I don't think so!

We will have to get together some time this spring for a cruse? I live in the Easter Lake area.

Just finished up installing the chrome valve cover package from West Coast Camaro, looking really good! I'm just waiting for the Roto-Fab (carbon fiber), Big Gulp & WW relocation package to go on sale for x-mas.

Got a chance to use my Hy-Vee gas discount card, had 25 cents a gallon discount so my gas was $2.83 a gallon-SWEET!!! On another note I asked my wife about the supercharger that should be appearing under the tree, she said "that ain't gonna happen" But, she did say that after x-mas some halos sure would look nice on the Camaro!!! Hmmmm...

DOH! A member on here was selling a brand new ARH 1 7/8 cats for $100 plus shipping and they cost $430. I was the first one to PM him last night, but since I got home at 6 am and went to bed somebody else already sent him the money for it. Damn you night shift.

Overpar: PUT THE TOOLS DOWN AND STEP AWAY FROM THE BEAUTIFUL ZL1...Now...go for a drive!

Concept mirrors look great. Do they have the LED turn signals in them?

Today was Karl Performance day.

I got up at 6am to get 67 Camaro there for 8am to dyno run it (get a base). So after strapping her down, doing the set run, (at idle speed to get car into position then final checking rachets)

Warmed up the car to temp, it was COLD in that garage ....they discussed the run procedures. First they ran it at 2000 rpm for awhile as their carb specialist with flashlight, using hand gestures to guy inside the Camaro to control what revs he wanted, as he watched the carb's site windows. Then to 3000 rpm next, holding it again as he watched the carbs, looking at each, backed her down to 2000 rpm again, then jumped it up to 4000 rpm and holding, to return back to idle.

The Carb guy came back into control room, (as Camaro was thumping -sounds awesum echo'ing in that dyno room with door open about 3') to look at the screen.

Turns out I have low volumn of fuel, the outer carbs are starving, and leaning up at 3000 and up. Only the main carb is fueled as normal. They asked me usual stuff, line size, filter locations, gas I use (Sunoco 110) age of plugs, and etc etc.

Then they went went back into the room, to then do a full out blast.
So basically on the center 250 cfm two barrel with the outers starving at 6000ish rpm the small block roared up to 363 rwhp with 415 in torque. One blast is all they did.

Talked with the guys, and discussed options with Ryan (sales rep) which said he'll call me later today with some thoughts after they did a full on inspection.

I left at noon, and as we went into the main garage, great timing for me, they also were firing up a red ZL1 (dallas county plate) with Lingenfelter parts magic added. VERY WICKED!!

So, the call from Ryan came to me at 4:00. My fuel line has a kink clear up in back where the line ups and around the suspension going to the tank. Hmmm, how the hell? I'm assuming when I added the DSE rear suspension 2 years ago, that maybe it was hit during fabrication.

So, now I'm having Karl Perf (per their recommendations) change the entire fuel line, upgrade into a racing type fuel filter (at the tank), upgrade my fuel pump to a racing volumn pump (its billet, so matches other motor parts) then from the pump, they also going to increase size the braided Earl lines, and increase the Demon's mounting ports. My block is a Dart approx 440 cu in, with Dart Pro1 heads, and Karl's guys pretty much think it's hungry so they want to feed it!

Yup, some $$$$$$$$

So after that is done, return back to dyno.

Today was a fun day!
