At just a hair shy of 590 CHP, this car hasn't gotten old yet. The power with the blower is so effortless and honestly, these tires can't handle it, especially in the cold. I smile every time I push the go pedal.

For the most part I'm getting used to it, but sometimes it catches me off guard and I get that thrill back. But then again that's why we ordered a ZL1 ...

And BTW it's the HP for bragging, but it's the Torque that makes you feel the mojo ....

It was my brothers Avalanche which is no where near that engine size. Not to mention my left foot was aimlessly feeling for a clutch.

I think the power becomes underwhelming when it's your DD. Until you realize how fast it is in comparison to riding in other cars.

I've been flip flopping between my SS & my 440HP lifted Tahoe since I got the Camaro in October to keep it fresh. But I only got to experience the 426HP for a little over 2 months, cause the SS is at the shop now getting its supercharger installed?..

Definitely. I notice it when I drive my Xterra (265hp) and I tend to push too hard on the pedal due to the lack of power compared to my 400+ hp SS. Also, if I drive the truck for several days when I get back into the SS I have the opposite problem.

In 0-60-mph testing, we clocked a Silverado with the 6.2-liter V8 at a very quick 6.6 seconds.

yeah...even with all the mods I started getting the feeling again of wanting more power towards the end of the summer. But everytime I take it out now for the everyother week warm up ride I get the whoa! sensation when I goose it and it plants me back in the seat and the ass end breaks loose...I guess horses don't like being couped up!

you can never have too much horsepower.

but i dont think it is just the horsepower because my LT felt like that at first but it just has a touchy throttle. i have driven cars with more horsepower about the same size that do not feel like that. but i like that feeling thats why i got a camaro and wish i could have got the SS and it would be better.

that's fast? compared to the camaro's 4.6s? ha! hardly.

i think the car should come with a different intake. that's really my biggest complaint about the power needing modification. sure, better headers can (and have) been made, better intakes, cams, etc. sure, i get it. but the intake made is obviously made specifically with baffles to be quiet and hinder performance. everything else was just the right part to the manufacturer during assembly. i don't think they were trying to limit anything otherwise.

Whenever I get bored of the power I just go ride my bicycle around the block for an hour and then my car feels like a rocketship.

It's a full sized 1/2 ton TRUCK. Yes, that's fast. Wanna know why? Because it's a truck.

A LLY, LBZ, LMM, or LML Duramax with only a tune would absolutely smoke it though (quite literally actually), regardless.
