This is a first... And no fear here... I'm feeling very confident this will work for me...

Ok, I finally got to the shop today, and we made quite a bit of progress...

The Boost controller is wired in, and we get her on the lift late this evening...tomorrow we start measuring all the angles needed. Since the cross member is in a different location, we have to make sure we have any possible measurement prior to removing the old trans... The differential doesn't move so our angles and alignment have to be spot on... We have solid aluminum sub frame bushings, and urethane and delrin diff bushings..

I have a few pictures of different items...

Note the size difference in the pilot shaft area of the input shaft. It's close to twice the diameter, and it's 9310 material... I used a handy item for reference...

We also have the chromoly output yoke from Strange... It's beefy yet lightweight...

I also have a picture of the SFI Certification sticker. Note, if you look closely, the serial number is also engraved into the housing so the sticker can't be moved to another bell housing... Having had it in my hands, I can state with no doubt that I'm very comfortable about being protected in the event of a clutch/flywheel scatter situation...

Please stay tuned as I will try really hard to be complete in the documentation of this install...

If any of the shops out there want to see something specific, let me know and I'll try to accommodate you...Of course, any people wanting to or considering a self install, I'll certainly help where I can as well.... Just ask...

So far today,

The car is in the air, the exhaust, the turbos, and the drive shaft are out of the car.

Now it's time to start measuring the pinion angles and alignment... We'll probably get on that after lunch... I'm taking pictures as we go but wont be posting them until evening time....

We have to measure the offset length, but we may use the existing cross member location and add to it in length rearward... Time will tell on that... Just ideas we are considering...

Trans is out, after we measured the pinion to output shaft angles. Zero degrees deflection with all parts at rest... There is just a bit of a different plane, but the angle is 0 degrees...

Now to find a new clutch....

My ACT 1400 ft/lb rated twin disc just doesn't look like it will hold up any more...

Suggestions...

Feel free to pm prices...

Said it in the other thread but here too...the Street Slayer Triple is the way I would go. I'd also call Thomas directly as he isn't on here all the time and if you are impatient like me, then you probably want an answer fast. Lol.

Thanks for the info, and I can't really call it impatient.... I've been working on getting this car ready for well over a year now....but, we are at a stand still until we get the new clutch...

I talked with Thomas at Hendrix, and I am most assuredly going with the RPS triple.... They'll have one ready Thursday and I should have it Monday...

Ok, It's official....

In pm'ing and via a telephone conversation, I've decided to get my Slayer (RPS Triple) carbon clutch from Hendrix Engineering.

Thomas was very up front with information and very easy to talk to... He was very thorough in his explanation and recommendations.

Thanks Thomas and Hendrix Engineering

I looked quite a bit and talked to several people.

I would like to throw a shout out to Matt at ECS (East Coast Supercharging) for the honest appraisal and opinion...

I was discussing a different manufacturer for a clutch in the interest of making an informed decision, and Matt point blank told me the other clutch (the one he sells) would not hold up to what my car is capable of and certainly not what it will be doing soon...

Thanks Matt for an honest appraisal and opinion... That is great customer service... A vendor that could make a sale and look the other way, but no... it's not what the customer needs and so we won't sell it....

Matts' recommendation was also the Slayer (RPS) Triple...

For now, the trans is out of the car, and we are in a holding pattern until Monday when the new clutch arrives...

As mentioned earlier... we did measure the output shaft/pinion angles and the differential is ZERO... They are on a slightly different plane but the angle is the same...Now all we have to do is install the new clutch and then the trans... and build the cross member to continue the ZERO differential angle...That shouldn't be hard to accomplish... Then carry on with the other mods to make this trans work... Interior mods, drive shaft loop, etc....
