i wanted to get a new malibu for a while and LOVED the white ones and the black ones that i saw out and about but then i was on the phone with draper chevrolet in michigan, and he said that's not an option. well then why the heck are they tinted on the website too? GRRRR frustrates me LOL!
Not everyone wants tinted windows , some people want them lighter than others. It's a personal choice, just take it and have them tinted at a tint shop. If you let that sway you from buying ANY car,well.........you'll get this

i realize that not everyone wants tinted windows... that's why i mentioned (maybe in a later post on this thread) that it should at least be an option! i just think it would be nice. but then someone else pointed out that all the states are different in their tint laws so it makes sense that gm wouldn't be able to cater to each state like that!

No they don't, the ECU will just pull timing, it gets the best power on premium.

yes, the site is dumb in that it doesn't really show things how they are. Like the MS wheels looking black, the windows looking tinted, etc.

Didn't read thru the entire post - but......

Each State (and some cities) have their own standards for tint. It's a safety issue.

As to pictures on the site -- every photo is retouched -- and what you don't possibly know is what's behind the window.....was it shot 'on the road?' Was it a complete car? Was there 'flash' in the windows -- was there something on the other side of the car that would have shown thru the windows???

.......you'll find that every manufacturer does this - -and it's not to confuse the customer or mislead them.....rather, it's to show the vehicle in the best possible light.

honey, give it a rest. The windows do come tinted. All cars with A/C have had tinted windows since before transfromers aired as a cartoon back in the day. I believe it is even on the sticker as STANDARD. No, they are not going to be limo tint but if you put the window down a little and look at the difference you will se it is pretty much darker. If you want to have DARK tint, you have to illegal and have a tint shop do it.

We got you. The site sucks and doesnt accurately represent the windows... whatever. it is meant to get a gist, ya know an idea of what the car will look like.

Skip the prada purse next time and just get the knock off, then go get your windows tinted.

i love being mocked so i'm glad that you responded! lol. that was very helpful.

by the way i don't own any prada purses (i do own paris hilton amounts of clothes LOL). if i hadn't spent all my money on that i'd have been able to pay cash for the car!

sorry for the rant just then but seriously... what does FINANCING a new car (that will cost me only 20 dollars more a month) have to do with paying cash for extras?
well if you saved lets say.. $4-5 extra a week in pocket change... in less then a year you could afford tinted windows

[QUOTE=haleyd;754070]why do you people assume that just because someone is getting a camaro they are rolling in money? that is one thing that drives me nuts about reading some of these posts. i have a budget. i know EXACTLY how much i have to finance in order to fit the payments in to my budget. in order to do that, i still have to save 5k more... that should take me another 12 weeks. after that my payments will be about 20 dollars more than they are now. so NO, 200 dollars isn't in my budget to spend afterwards. it's like buying an ipod or something... i had to save for it... i didn't just go out and buy it LOL! so if i want them tinted it's something i will have to save for and not get done right away. so i guess yes, i can afford it in the long run but i don't just have the 200 laying around to have it done right now. know what i mean? QUOTE]

If you are financing your Camaro... you can have your dealership tint the windows & have that rolled into the final price of the car... adding approximatly $4.00 per month to the payment.

In Texas...... it's a nobrainer... you tint the windows asap!!

actually i don't spend ANY change. ever. if the total is 4.01 i give them 5. lol. it drives people crazy but last year i took my jar to the bank and had them cash it in and i had $452 dollars in change after about 7 or 8 months! not too shabby. i just took that cash and put it right back at the bottom of the jar and started putting more change on top of it. i plan to cash it all in when my car comes and use whatever is in there as more of a down payment on top of what i will already have!!! but now come to think of it... i could use it for window tint!!!!

thank you! that's really all i was trying to say. but oh well. the whole intitial point of my post got lost in all the sarcasm that was thrown at me... so i guess it doesn't matter anymore LOL!

This is really the answer to the question Haleyd asked earlier...why do people assume you're rolling in money? It's not that exactly...it's just that if you're planning to lay out $30,000 for the car, but bumping it up to $30,200 to include tint is a problem for you, it gives the impression (whether right or wrong) that something is out of whack...that you're spending more than you can afford.

Anyway as suggested above most dealers will be happy to do the tinting, and you can roll the cost into the loan if that's what you want to do. I'm sure they will be aware of what is legal in your state.
